I actually had good luck shipping a completed antec 300 build. I used the stock foam and box, then filled all the voids with packing peanuts from a newegg shipment :). I also had some antistatic bubble wrap that I put in the case, to keep things from getting jostled around.

I don't know about everyone else, but Alpha 3 was my childhood. Airblocking changes up the game SO severely.

Anyone have any recent tech demos that are just awesome to watch? Crysis not included of course ;)

How did you plug the fan to the card directly? The fan uses 3 pins, and the card has a 2 pin fan connector?

I did this myself - worked great for a couple weeks till I got my case.

Why not keep an eye on full tower cases? Those are probably too small for what you have in mind.

Maybe look on the Autopia.org forums? Those guys are super hardcore car detailers and they might be able to help with the polishes. Personally, I think you could get away with not sanding at all, or just sanding at the very end with 2500 grit, then a rubbing compound, then a polish.

+1 on the modular PSU - I have a modular PSU in my lanbox lite and its still kind of a pain to manage cables...

You could also mount a hard drive in the other 5.25" drive bay as well (with a bay converter). Just putting that option out there.

Stoner's Invisible Glass - in the automotive aisle. It's safe for tint, which is sometimes more fragile than most screens. So it stands to reason that it is safe for laptop screens. Wipe with a microfiber cloth, then dry with same cloth.
