Hmm, yeah I saw that issue while I was Googling for mine. It's weird though, because I've never seen this issue before. I have ran dual monitor setups before with this same configuration. The only things that have changed are the OS (Windows 7 to 8.1) and drivers since I last ran something like...
My configuration is in the signature. I have 2 monitors hooked up to my GPU: 1 24 inch monitor that is hooked up via DVI-->HDMI and the other is a TV hooked up from mini HDMI to HDMI. For some reason, the bottom of the monitor randomly flickers black occasionally. I have wiped drivers...
I'm working with Newegg on a return, hopefully I'll get a good screen. I haven't heard of many bleeding issues, so hopefully this is an isolated incident. Otherwise the screen is gorgeous.
I just bought an Asus VN248H

And I've had some trouble with the backlight, but I'm not sure if this is just typical of IPS panels at this price range or if it is an abnormality.
Here are some...
Does anyone know how to make a bootable drive using Mac? The other computer I have with me is a Mac and I'm not sure how to make the drive bootable. I used Disk Utility on the Mac to try and make the drive bootable for Windows Machines, but to no avail.
I've been using W8 for months now and all of a sudden, whilst traveling, I cannot log into my computer. I get the error "Your PC is offline. Please sign in with the last password used on this PC." I am certain I am using the correct password. I have a flash drive and another laptop at my...
Primary use is just regular office work/browsing/the occasional video game, so nothing TOO color sensitive. Matte is preferred. I've been out of the loop for so long, so I just want to know what's out there.
Thanks in advance...
I have a GTX 460 and a Samsung UNEH406030 3DTV with accompanying glasses. I also have a AMD 6770m on my notebook. Do I need to purchase a 3d conversion software? What exactly do I need to get this setup to work?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for all of the responses. I didn't consider the Note 2 because it's simply too big for me. I tried handling it in the store and it wasn't comfortable at all.
I went with the iPhone 5, here's why.
I use Android on a daily basis (ICS) and while Google has made HUGE advances compared to...
I have an iPhone 4 right now, which I'm quite happy with, but I have finished the 2 year commitment and I have a chance to upgrade. I could got for the refurbished S3 from AT&T for 30 bucks or the iPhone 5 from Sam's Club for $120. My family has a couple iPhone 5's and they seem to be pretty...
The Google Play Store is the only place to get the Nexus 4, as far as I know. They all come unlocked.
I suppose you could get it at T-Mobile, but that requires the signing of a 2 year contract.
Thanks for the response. Yeah, I'm not sure why it drops to 29hz...I can't find an explanation.
Using a GTX 460 with the latest 306.97 drivers.
*EDIT*
Just came back home and tested it again. It goes to 60hz and full 1920x1080 without any issues...
Not sure why it's doing that, but it look...
I have a UNEH406030 by Samsung and when I change the input name to PC/DVI, the text becomes clear. However, the refresh rate goes to 29hz and it says the resolution is interlaced. Is that a problem? What's going to yield the best picture in terms of video/games? Thanks in advance.
I found it to be quite a lot faster, especially in regards to Safari. My battery life seems to have decreased a bit, but I've only been running it for a day, so we'll see.
Installed it on an iPhone 4 and it's a lot faster. Everything is smoother and Safari is incredibly responsive. I like the new layout of the Music app, but of course, not too excited about the Maps app, but Google's online maps will do for now.
My battery life seems to have taken a hit, though.
I'm looking to get rid of an extra iPad 2 that we have laying around. It was a gift, but since we already have one, we have no use for it. There was a plastic cover over the packaging that was removed, but the contents and the iPad 2 itself has yet to be touched. Comes with all the usual...
Short answer: there isn't anything that even comes close to the DPI, performance, and form factor of the new MBP.
You could go for a 15 inch 1080p laptop that has comparable performance, but right now nothing can match the screen.
Honestly, my iPhone 4 does everything I could possibly want. Battery life is still incredible, the screen is gorgeous(dat ppi), the design is not going to look/feel old any time soon, the cameras are quite good (video and stlls), and it's still blazing fast.
In future phones, I expect the high...
Just today my iPhone 4 dropped 3 feet onto a hard floor. I was frightened, but upon further inspection, nary a scratch. Pretty amazing..I've been very lucky so far.
I got the DV6t select edition (you can opt for the quad for $100 bucks more, could be worth it)
I paid $854 for mine, I believe, after a nice 33% off coupon last month.
Things of note: There is a bit of keyboard flex around the f4-f5 region and the keyboard could be better overall. It's still...
The 6770m is on par or faster than the GT555m. I have a dvt6 myself with an i5, 6770m, 6gigs of RAM, and a 1080p screen (highly recommended). I've been quite pleased.
It's not a bad idea in terms of specs, but I heard that the Y570 isn't the best machine in terms of quality. I don't have one, so I can't comment directly, but check out notebookforums.com 's Lenovo page. I believe they have an owner's thread there.
The GT555m in that Lenovo does not have all...
Posted this in OCN, but wanted opinions from the [H] community.
Here are the specs:
i7 2630QM @ 2ghz / i5 2410m @ 2.3ghz
6770m 1gb
750GB 5400RPM HD/ 640 5400RPM HDD (Should I spring for the 7200RPM at a cost of battery life?)
High Capacity 6 cell battery
Free Blu-Ray reader + dvd burner...
Check out the HP DV6t Quad Edition. 15.6 inch, 1080p screen, 6770m GPU, Quad core i7, and under 6 lbs to boot.
Also has a blu ray player. Comes in at around 1k for these options.
The HP dv6t quad edition is right up your alley. It has sandy bridge, a 6770m gpu (better than the GT540 and even GT555), a 1080p matte screen, a weight that is less than the XPS 15, and all for $1000.
The only thing that you should check upon is the battery life. You can opt for a high...
My motherboard is the 790x-UD4P from Gigabyte (AM2+) and I believe it supports 2.0.
I understand that since my other PCI-E slot is occupied by my sound card (space issues) it goes down to 8x, but why 1.1? It clearly says on the mobo itself that it is a 2.0 slot.
Any ideas...
I'd go with the 6950 and a reference one so you can unlock it to the 6970.
*Edit*
This one unlocks, as far as I know.

It's a great value for $120 after rebate.
Upgrade to a 5850 1GB for $140 bucks and OC your CPU. You should definitely see a major improvement. The 720 should reach 3.4ghz with ease and will do very well with games at that frequency.
I have the $130 dollar model and it's an incredible device for reading books. In terms of PDF's, it's decent, but I wouldn't shell out that much money for something only to read PDF's. The screen is pretty high res and there isn't much scrolling involved. I found that graphics are hit or miss...
