For those of you familiar with the Thermalright IFX-14. Please take a look at the bellow site and give me a suggestion on what add-ons to get with the cooler (i.e., fans [how many fans? 2?] and paste) as far as the drop down menus are concerned. Thanks...
What's the best i7 CPU cooler available? Here are some options:

There are a lot of settings in the "DRAM Timing Control" menu, how do I set them? Also, it looks like you have DRAM voltage set to 1.90 ...You're not supposed to go above 1.65 on these setups.
Hey folks, I have a very early version of the Asus P6t Deluxe V1...I got it when it first came out. Right now i'm running 3GB of OCZ 1600 ram on it (one dimm per channel). I want to install 12GB or OCZ 1600 Platinum memory in my computer. However, the MOBO manual states that only one 1600 dimm...
So I installed the following HDD in my new computer:

and it seems to work just fine. However, ever since I did this, windows has been being weird. For one, my time and date are all out of whack and won't update no matter what...
Hey,
I finally mustered up the courage to tinker w/ my new i7 system. I have the i7 920 CPU that runs 2.66 stock, but i want to safely crank it up to 3.2 using the stock cpu fan. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing here, but I went in and tinkered w/ BIOS to get the below.
Here are my...
How far could i push this processor (i7 920) on stock cpu cooler??? The Antec 1200 case has good ventilation, which probably doesn't matter all that much, but it's something.
So you do recognize that the FSX performance i'm getting is sub par? Because, thus far this forum for the most part has told me to accept what i'm getting.
Hmm, I tried two Nvidia drivers (right now i'm running on the latest beta) and i have all the FSX updates. I'm not quite sure what else software-wise is out there.
Did this and it's still giving me the stupid admin message. On another note, I ran CPU-Z (and I really don't know what the hell i'm looking at)...it gives me different CPU speeds depending on what i'm running. For example, 1600mhz when idling and 2800mhz (~stock cpu speed) when I play FSX. Is...
There's even a SP2 :) Both come on the FSX add on - FSX Acceleration, which I have.
Is there an "un-biased" benchmark I can use to definitively tell me if i'm getting the right performance? One that doesn't cost anything?
I downloaded it and tried to run it and it's telling me i don't have admin rights on my machine... This is the 2nd program that's telling me this. Any thoughts why this could be??? Obviously, it's my computer - i built it.
Well, when I do what you mention at the end there, it runs just fine lol. But damn, $1500 system pushing 7fps on a game that's by no stretch new? Really???
Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, but it sucks at FSX - the game i really want to play.
I got my RAM from Newegg...I think the only way i can return it is for a replacement of the same stuff :( I had all intentions of getting more RAM soon, but now i'm in a pickle.
How is it geared for low resolution??? No SLI? Low RAM? On that note, I play FSX on 1680x1050x32...cranking the resolution down doesn't speed up my performance, which is weird.
Yeah, you're saying that the benefits of upping the amount of RAM would outweigh the loss of bandwidth - that i get. I'm just annoyed that i'll have to buy 1600 RAM to match what i have now and THEN cranking it down to 1333...or can i just buy 1333 RAM and live with that mismatch if my 1600 is...
Hmm, problem being...only when I got my stuff did i find out that on the ASUS p6t mobo you can only use one dimm per channel when running 1600mhz RAM. It's got 6 dimms total divided over 3 channels...2 channels per dimm. So basically, i screwed myself by buying 3x1 gig RAM because i'm maxing out...
My fault - new to the forum. Any chance my PSU is too weak and choking the system somehow? I was under the impression that if the PSU isn't adequate, then computer doesn't work very well. My system works fine w/ no problems other than poor FSX performance :(
The video card came w/ Far Cry 2. I can run that on ultra settings no problem. I'm not sure how graphics intensive FC2 is, tho. Would manually imputing the RAM timings help w/ anything? BIOS posts the RAM at 1600mhz, so I don't know if there would be any point to it...
I don't particularly care about the benchmark. The performance i get in microsoft flight simulator X (FSX) is what worries me. I really don't think that i should be seeing 7fps...
