I've seen that once or twice, but I've just sort of shrugged my shoulders at it. What I've been complaining about affects the entire screen. It's like a line that travels from the bottom of the screen to the top, like it's scanning the screen. Sometimes one that goes from top to bottom, much...
The email support department I contacted is specifically for 3D monitors. From the response I got, I suspect they have more specific and greater expertise than the general chat support that probably handles every product type.
They indicated that they just discovered the problem and just...
If you want the monitor mainly for 2D, I'd contact Planar about the firmware update (provided it fixes everything like it should; they indicated that they'll be testing it for the first time today). I'd assume after a few months or so it won't matter, as all monitors shipping would have the new...
Bump with response I received from Planar:
My original email detailed the various tests I did, the results of which are: no tearing at 60hz, tearing at 100/110/120hz, no tearing at 120hz in 3D mode (whether the content is 3D or if I launch in 3D and disable it to get 2D without tearing)...
I just got this monitor recently and checked for tearing after reading this thread. It's there in 120hz with vsync on, whether overdrive is on or not. There is no difference in tearing whatsoever with overdrive on.
The tearing usually manifests as a line running at a moderate speed from bottom...
On the previous page I notice 3 screens and 3 different displays for the AA options. One checkbox. Two checkboxes, A dropdown menu and a checkbox.
Just discovered it doesn't work with 10.12a either.
Finally gave up and reinstalled Windows; working now.
After being attacked by the card again today, I think I'm going to get rid of it. It played a strange, painfully loud blip over the audio of the game I was playing. The actual audio of the game seemed unchanged except for the loud sound playing over it.
And yes, I did everything cyclone3d...
Ah, well, I already have a couple pairs of headphones. I'm sure each is better than that Sony, and I sure as hell can't afford $3300 just for a sound system.
I'm honestly not sure what to do. Would an exchange be worth it, or would it likely have the same issue? I could try an Auzentech (if...
It does sound great with music and games. My problem is extremely rare and seems extremely random. I am unable to reproduce it on command. I don't know if it's a driver issue, hardware issue, or what.
Any "snap, crackle, pop" issues I turn up in google don't feel like the same issue to me...
I got the card and it sounds great most of the time, but about once a day I get a loud pop, or "click." It is loud enough to hurt my ears. One time I got a random loud burst of static while simply using Windows and not playing anything. On another occasion, after leaving my computer for a bit, I...
Well.. I could go with a GTX 280 or something from a company with a step-up program... That way I could hedge my bet and have PhysX in the meantime, plus a little upgrade insurance...
Any significant downside to this vs. the 4870x2? With the 4870x2, I'd probably use it for a full year before...
Well, tonight I just got the notification that newegg shipped all my parts for my new build, including a 4870 X2. Also tonight, I was looking around on the board and stumbled upon the Cryostasis tech demo from Nvidia. Doing a bit of searching, I started to find the various games that...
It should be almost exactly 2 years since we got the computer/PSU. And we got this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130373
Alright, order is completed. Got my bro the GTX 260, monitor still TBD.
I stuck with the Antec 1200 in the end for the superior cooling. I figure I don't have any terribly loud components anyways, so I might as well go with the extra cooling. Now I suppose I just have to study some PC...
Okay, I updated my build in the OP by axing the sound card and changing the PSU to the BFG ES-800. I'm still a little torn between the Antec 1200 and P182. 1200 has better cooling and is more spacious, but it is louder and attracts more dust, while the P182 is quieter but is cramped and has...
Unfortunately he's asleep in his room right now. All I know is it's some sort of Coolermaster model. Also, he is using a 1440x900 monitor, which is nothing, but the plan is to get him a GPU and monitor upgrade for Xmas. So I was wondering what we could do within those contstraints. I was...
I think I'm going to stick with my original build. Compared to a Q9550 build, the difference is about $250-300 when keeping components as similar as possible. I'd rather just pay the difference and have an i7, honestly. I'm a little OCD, so the money is worth it purely for the sake of my sanity...
I have a pair of Denon AH-C700. They sound great unamped and they have a "magic" cable that doesn't get tangled (it seems like a small feature, but it's great not having to undo knots every time I pull my iPod out).
$104.99 at Amazon (marked down from $200, though I don't think you'd really...
Well, I guess the Q9550 isn't too far behind i7 in gaming considering the price difference. I guess maybe I should re-evaluate and try a Q9550 build unless there really is a compelling argument for staying with i7...
Can't really argue with the savings. It's just that going with the "old" tech sort of makes me a little nervous. One of my reasons for going with i7 now was that it might save me the trouble of a CPU/MB/RAM upgrade in the future. I'm also worried about getting burned by inferior numbers compared...
Size of the tower isn't really an issue to me. The Antec P180/182 seems like a great looking case though. Any downsides to picking that over the Antec 1200?
First the questions from the sticky (omitted a couple for redundancy):
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Trying my best to stay at $2000 or so.
3) Where do you live?
California...
