"Does an i7 7700K on "Z170" motherboard work with Windows 7. Help Urgent!

oh yeah, sh1t. My friend is buying the parts on amazon for his Z170 system. Maximus Hero Z170 with i7 7700K. Problem is how is he going to update the Bios without a supported chip. The Motherboard comes with the older bios, so he will need a Skylake CPU to update the bios to support Kabylake...

"Does an i7 7700K on "Z170" motherboard work with Windows 7. Help Urgent!

I have been searching for over a week for an answer to my question. Ok so we all know that Kabylake Z270 is no longer officially supported by windows 7. Skylake Z170 is Officially supported since that is what I currently have. I have a friend that bought a brand new Kabylake i7 7700K in...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

This will be my last post on this matter, but I need to address this since you have made inaccurate accusations against me here which are simply untrue, not to mention misrepresented the data presented. The artifacts caused by PWM are a worse form of motion blur because as I tried( as well as...

Directly no, but we have already covered this. What you did was imply it by throwing my name directly in there and that fact that you refuse to admit what is so blatantly obvious says alot about your character. Anyone with a brain can read between the lines. I would have great deal more respect...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I see tons of motion blur and so does everyone else, since that's the nature of all sample and hold displays. You are not understanding that the issue being discussed here was never about motion blur but motion artifacting caused by PWM. Is that so, let's have a look see at what you said...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I asked Samsung why they only stocked 50" and up here in Canada(so i'm guessing it's the same reason in EU) and they told me not enough of a market share to justify caring anything under 50" They said under 50" is a niche market and the majority if potential customers want minimum 50" and up...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

PWM sensitivity generally referred to the effects on eye fatigue in relation to desktop PC monitors and there usage for extended periods of time. When you are up close to the display the effects of PWM are more pronounced. That is why the more expensive quality PC displays are using DC dimming...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I agree, if you can't see it or if you do and it doesn't bother you then it's a moot point. Believe me I very badly wanted the 7500, was even going to make the 50 min drive across the border to pick one up but I could not live with the PWM on the 50" model I tested and now I must purchase a...

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

You know what's funny in the SONY thread here a guy said he needed a 4K under 50", I told him to steer clear of anything Sony under 55" an recommended him the Samsung 7500. Samsung is really the only TV display manufacturer making good 40" 4K TV's which is the ideal size as a desktop PC monitor.

-The test is not artificial it's an eye test the one you claim that matters. Nor is the UFO test for ULMB. They are not isolated trick tests instead the PWM test is quite representative of how the artifacting effects the visual smoothness of the displayed picture. The PWM effect is most noticed...

Yeah something strange is going on there, I found it extremely odd that your pictures showed no sign of pwm artifacting so I went and asked members over at the AVS forum in the JS9000 thread to test there TV's using the same test and they reported seeing multiple lines when turning there...

    The 2015 Sony TV Thread

I plan to use it as a TV and for playing PC games. Since it's a 55" TV your head will need to be at least minimum 3 feet from the TV. I have a 40" 4K Philips PC monitor and I am 2 feet from it.

By positive do you mean propagating false information, just as he did in his last few posts. Oh and we don't need to own one to know the effects of PWM, plus i've seen the 7500 in person and tested it. You are a prime example of another defensive owner, if you don't like hearing facts, tough...

Come on Cyph, be reasonable here. First off that is a sample pic of 1 frame which in of itself is rather self explanatory. The artificating caused by PWM is much worse when seen in motion. Just accept what the science proves. If it doesn't bother you that's your prerogative, but don't try and...

    The 2015 Sony TV Thread

The only good 4K SONY TV's start at 55" and up. The best gaming model is the X810C 55" followed by the X850C. Since it seems you are looking for a display under 50" Samsung is really your only alternative.

What happens with PWM when cycling(under 100% brightness) is it causes motion artifacting. I have a Philips 40" 4K display that uses PWM that cycles at a higher rate Hz than the samsung's and I still noticed the effect @60% brightness. Here I took this right from blur busters. PWM Do you...

24 inch 16:10 VA panel monitor, do they exist?

20wgx2 was my first ever LCD monitor, moving away from my Sony 21" Triniton. I remember paying $891 cdn for that LCD. It was top the top of the line at the time. Most Monitors today other than professional grade market, are built cheap, have poor QC and are overpriced. I recently had the chance...

The 7500 is the superior display. Those graphs illustrate how the 6000 series uses less steps in it's PWM duty cycle than the 7000 series. So the flickering should be smoother on the 7000 series and up.

When people say viewing angles I just facepalm

I agree, VA panels benefit the most from having the screen curved which reduces horizontal gamma shift. I think curved screens are a gimmick if you sit further away from them, but up close they are fantastic.

2015 Samsung 4k TV as a Monitor Set Up Guide

Yeah, it actually compels me to buy a 980ti or wait for pascal. One has to see a game at 4K on a large display to truly understand it's appeal. 1080p just looks bad, plus at 4k I really don't need AA anymore, maybe just a bit of SMAA.

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

I have no idea for the exact reason why Samsung went with PWM. We know that in PC displays they use PWM as way to reduce cost. Also DC dimming in the BenQ monitors and SONY TV's has had no effect on the color spectrum that we know of. So I guess what I'm saying is Samsumg probably could of used...

I don't understand why Samsung goes through all this trouble, just use DC dimming like SONY, problem solved on all displays. Such a shame as I wanted to originally buy the 40" 7500

Decided to get a 40-43" 4K tv as my monitor.. Samsung JU7100 or other?

Remember the Samsung TV's use PWM to control brightness and if not set to 100% they will suffer from PWM artifacting when dealing with motion. SONY is the only TV manufacturer that uses DC dimming.

Decided to get a 40-43" 4K tv as my monitor.. Samsung JU7100 or other?

Would be nice if they had a 40" model, but the market for that size in a 4K TV is very niche. Most people looking to purchase 4K TVs are generally looking for 60" and up. What I noticed about Sony's VA panels is they look spectacular. Better than any of the 3rd rate VA panels used in PC...

Decided to get a 40-43" 4K tv as my monitor.. Samsung JU7100 or other?

The 810C is a great TV with 35ms input lag, and fast pixel response time. Only thing is it starts at 55" and up.

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

I'm contemplating taking this back and by no means do I think it's a bad monitor, especially for the price I paid it's a steal. However I don't think I can adjust to such as massive size. For me 32" is the sweet spot. DPI scaling is a must and without a doubt makes the size far more manageable...
