The day Apple offers FLAC (or even ALAC) tunes for the same price as their shitty 128kbps tracks is the day I'll consider throwing them any money.
I won't comment on file sharing, but I do know that I'll only give my money to artists and labels who show respect for the consumer -- fortunately there are many of them out there :)
Man, you guys are brutal! Hardly a thread goes by without seeing smart-ass comments like these flying left and right. Chill out, no need to impress the guys here. Perhaps this is a good time to make a resolution for the new year ;)
I'm really liking LoTRO so far, having a lot of fun running around and taking in all the scenery. Anyone who is a fan of the books would really enjoy it I think.
I just ordered LoTR Online for like $13 shipped (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥), I'll give that a go for at least a month. Looking forward to it!!
Well, I've played it on a buddy's computer. His is chilling right there with the minimum system requirements, and it plays great -- at very low...everything, on a 1280x1024 display. Why would it come as a shock to anyone with the minimum requirements that they can't play at medium or high...
Hey everyone -- I'm about to pick up Vista again after spending the last couple of years on a Mac, and I'm kind of out of the loop when it comes to those "essential" applications that everyone uses, takes for granted, etc. So, why doesn't everyone list their top 5 favorite/most used/most useful...
Thanks, guys. I picked the Caviar Black because of its combination of speed and capacity -- first I was looking at a Raptor + Caviar Green, but that would have cost me about 3x the Caviar Black. In short time I'll probably pick up a 1TB storage drive as well, lord knows 1080p and FLACs fill up...
I'm pretty excited about it, especially since they said there's a lot of single-player action as well. I'm not huge into MMOs, but a good balance between the two would be great
Hey guys, this is the first build I'm doing completely on my own. I'd like to be able to do just about anything that normal people do with this -- an all-purpose machine. The main things I'd want to use this for is to play any given modern game with medium to high settings, run MATLAB, CAD...
It wouldn't be any less cool than current HSF. Most of the energy would be dissipated (heat), and some would be converted to work to power the fan. I looked up the power consumption of Antec's TriCool 120mm fans, and at max RPM they still use less than 3W. So a self-powered HSF is very...
Ha, if it weren't so expensive I'd like to do some experiments comparing heat transfer rates between copper/silver heatsinks. The difference is probably too small to be worth the price jump -- and would using the silver on a contact surface present problems (tarnishing)? Diamond is just not...
