Hello;
A friend gave me an old switch he had found, however it seems to be broken.
It's a d-link des-3526 managed 24-port switch.
The power light is blinking, and it does not have any lights light up when cables are plugged in, neither on the computers network card or on the switch...

Heyo;
Why a case with a handle?
I own a TT Lanbox Lite, and in all honesty the handle isn't that useful.
Its a well built cast, the handle is more then sufficient to hold it, but with all the stuff you will be putting inside the case, its going to get heavy. You will probably find yourself...
Hey, I have a TT LanBox Lite myself, and cooling isnt an issue for me.
Get a PSU that doesnt have a fan on the bottom for your best bet.
You have quite a bit of room for an aftermarket cooler if you want too, I'm guessing around 10cm from mobo-psu (from looking in the side of my case).
Cable sleeve products will help, makes them look neater and easier to tie out of place.
You can pick them up prettymuch anywhere, wallmart, ect. They have fancy ones on newegg, but whatever floats your boat.
Thanks all for the input, its greatly appreciated.
After reading you suggestions and a bit more on the topic, I have decided its probally best to get a used 24 port switch. This will keep cost down while allowing for expansion in the future.
Unfourtunantly, I cant post in the WTS/WTT...
Uhm, Not sure. Im guessing we would want around 90 dollars.
Yep, that's why we are moving to switches. Just wanted to let you know what stuff we already had incase you had any ideas.
Both the routers are being used only as WAPs.
The wifi is two LINKSYS WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Routers, I...
Hello all!
I am planning on setting up a small LAN party (12-15 people) sometime over the Christmas holidays. This is something a group of us do around twice a year, but every time we have network stability and performance issues. These issued are only noticeable on newer games, such as CoD5...
Hello everyone, thanks for your time in reading this.
I am hoping to put together a heavy duty gaming rig in the next few months, and have a few questions. Here are the parts I''m currently looking at:
All prices are from Newegg.ca in Canadian Dollars
mobo GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 LGA 1366...
Hey all!
Just a comment, probally not needed but here because I can. If you switch to a retail chipset you could also use the stock HSF, and drop the Arctic Ice as well. Seeing how you don't plan on over-clocking and all...
Ok, there are 4 diffrent versions of the 9800 GT, Where can I find the diffrences with them? Is there a website that can explain why eVGA decided to relase so many versions of the same card?
the MSI GeForce 9800 GT N9800GT is on sale at newegg.ca for 145 + Free shipping.
Should I go with that rather then the card I currently selected?
Thanks again to all of you guys for your time and effort.
While this would indeed work, I was hoping to pay a bit more and get a bit more life out of it. I'll talk to my bro and get back to you. Thanks so much for your help guys.
Take my words for what they are worth, im partially retarded with computers, however...
Future proof does not exist, set a goal for what you want and when you want to replace it.
When you upgrade to a full set-up would be a good time to upgrade imo...
I borrowed the parents compy for school.
It was an AMD 1.8 (single core, yes, those still exist), 1gig of ram and a crappy 256mb video card. Not the greatest for games, but I survived school, perhaps because of that XD.
This will be primairly a gaming rig, I have no intention of any other use, perhaps some minor photoshop and movie watching but nothing heavy.
Hrm, Well, I want two moniters over 20" each, the higher quality the better, to an extent of course.
As for the budget, I have a cap at 4000, so I am...
I was thinking a card per moniter, the ram I just never changed becasue I figured it would still be compatible. Yes, I am retarded XD
I dont get half of this newer stuff, what are some good resources to read up on? (I have tried wikipedia already :P)
Hello! Just want to say thanks for all your help the past week, I'm looking at another build now and here are my thoughts...
-Building a Heavy Duty Gaming Rig
-I have $3,000 Canadian to spend, mind you, you don't have to spend it all ;)
-I live in Southern Ontario.
-Everything is needed...
The dollar isnt that weak right now, its just everything costs more over here.
That's why I shop in the states when I can, however duty still sucks XD
I wish I could get my girlfriend to order the parts for me, she has her greencard and such, not to mention relatives I could ship it to. Wrap...
