Nikyo, thanks for the information. You sound like you have some experience with monitors. Yes, I am not concerned with money, just a good 1440p monitor for my general use.
I went with the BenQ BL2710PT 27-Inch monitor. Can I use a dvi cable for 2560x1440 resolution with my GeForce 550ti...
One other question. I have an older graphics card, a Nvidia 550ti. Will it be able to handle 2560x1440 resolution okay even for playing movies. I don't play games so that isn't something I'm concerned with, just the web and movies.
thanks
Thank you very much for the information. :) I appreciate it. Thanks for recommending a few monitors for me to look at. The BenQ BL2710PT sounds like what I looking for right now.
I want a nice big monitor for the web and watching movies. I spend a lot of time online because I help manage a few different forums. But my biggest love is watching movies, usually bluray videos. I read many reviews and narrowed down my choice so far to this monitor,
(ViewSonic VP2770-LED...
 Not sure if serious or kidding? LOL. The same could be said for most horror, crime movies, etc where somebody is a victim. You just have to realize that it's meant to be a game to entertain people. That's all really.:D
Can somebody tell me if this cpu upgrade is worth the money? I have an E4600 dual core running at 2.4ghz (2M L2 Cache, 2.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB). I was looking at upgrading to the E6700 2.66ghz (4M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB). Is the extra cache and small ghz increase worth it for $50.00. Does...
Yes the 6 pin is attached. I don't have another card right now. Just my integrated graphics built into the pc. Could the card just be incompatible with my board or is this unlikely? Does the PCI-E option in bios only appear when you have a card in the slot?
Hope somebody can help me a bit. I tried installing my hd 5770 video card in the PCI-E slot in my board, but when I boot I get a black screen when using the DVI cable and VGA cables. When I take the card out and go back into Bios, there is no PCI-E option, just on board video and PCI. Is this...
I just tried this on my 8800GT that was displaying artifacts and red lines. Sad to say it didn't work for me. Put the card back in and got nothing but a black screen. Oh well, didn't lose anything since the card was 4 years old and out of warranty. :(
Just curious as to how much memory most people have that occasionally game and watch Hd movies, etc. Is 2GB sufficient or outdated by today's requirements?
LOL.:p Yeah I went from the 1.8ghz to 2.4ghz dual core, which really seemed to make a nice jump for me in some games. I haven't rebuilt my pc though since then as I stopped playing games for awhile. Now I am back into gaming and really notice the lag. I was hoping to make a small bump for a year...
Is it possible to upgrade my cpu to this processor, and would it be worth it. I have an 2.4ghz dual core now. Can I do any better at all? Thanks

What sort of reliability problems have the 460's had? Have they been ironed out by now I wonder. I was looking at the MSI Hawk 460 1GB in particular. Is the Sapphire 6850 a quality card also?
Thanks. The 460 seems more appealing to me also, maybe because I have always had Nvidia. I have been looking at several of the 460's. The biggest thing that stands out to me is that some of the 460's have two fans and some only.one This may sound silly, but for some reason 2 fans worries me that...
I have read dozens of review on these two cards and it seems they are basically the same performance wise with the edge in some games to one or the other. So why is the Nvidia card basically about 30 bucks more than the 6850? Is it just that nvidia feels that their cards command a premium and...
Not trying to get off topic as I have a question that somewhat relates. I read somewhere that if you have an intel processor you should go with Nvidia and that AMD processors should be paired with AMD cards. Is there any truth to this or just nonsense?
I would like to know this as well? I have always owned Nvidia, but I have to admit I have experienced some problems and had to rollback drivers on occasion. But this was from me updating drivers just to have the latest ones. I should have followed the if it isn't broke don't try to fix it...
Just curious as I have never bought an AMD/ATI card before but think I am going to. Do they have a control panel similar to the Nvidia one where you can adjust color/gamma, etc for videos and the desktop? I always thought that feature was cool. Thanks
Yeah, I do have an HP. I have added the PSU and changed the cpu because it came with a 1.8ghz, but the main board is still a HP Asus Leonite2 6.00 . When I added the E4600 a guy told me that this board wouldn't hold any better cpu. I tried searching all over the net because I would love to...
Thanks. That was actually my main concern as with which card would give me fewer problems with drivers and such for games. I have always owned nvidia in the past, but I realize both are reputable companies. I figured since the 5570 had been out for sometime also that drivers issues would be...
:( Yeah that's bad news as I really liked what I saw of that game. Oh well. I was playing it for a few days and didn't notice any lag at all even with my old 8800GT so I figured a newer card would help a bit. I used the fraps software to test my frames and I was getting around 30. But i know my...
Thanks for the response. I know this isn't an exciting question.:p I have an older pc with an E4600 2.4ghz dual core, 450Watt corsair PSU and 4GB Ram. I just want to play newer games with acceptable fps. Nothing fancy.
I was playing FEAR 3 and Deus Ex Human Revolution when my 8800 GT began...
I have narrowed down my graphic card choices to these two because of my current pc setup. I have read several reviews but can't really decide. Is the 550 worth a few more bucks? Anybody have any experience with either of these who can make a recommendation? I will purchase one or the other so...
My 8800GT died on me and I need a new card to do some decent gaming, nothing top of the line. I would like to be able to play the Witcher 2. So, what would be a good a card to go with for under say $220 or so? I was looking at Radeon HD 5770 1GB 1 card because of all the good reviews on newegg...
Good luck getting an answer to your question. I have asked a similar question many times and no answer. I could care less about photography work. All I want the thing for is watching my bluray movies and playing my video games. Most of the people here just seem worried about color tint. Do...
Can anyone else comment on how movies look, esp. 720p? I like to use my monitor for viewing movies and wondered how this monitor will display HD content since it is below 24 inches?
I was leaning toward purchasing this monitor, but this thread has killed my enthusiasm. There are far more negative comments here than positive ones. Not worth the hassle of returning a large item like a monitor. I have had 3 TN panels in the past and they have all seemed perfect to me. I guess...
I have a couple questions about the 2209WA. Since it is 22 inches, what will happen when a full hd movie is played on it? Would I notice much difference if I went with a 23inch that displays full HD like the LG W2353V?
