okay change of plans. I want to use a WRT54G with the dd-wrt firmware to increase the signal strength, and then use a WAP54G in repeater mode to expand the signal. I found out that a bridge is not needed inbetween them when it is set in repeater mode. So instead of spending $120 on the bridge...

well 64bit WEP should be enough to stop casual snoopers. If I enabled WPA, disabled broadcast of SSID, and enabled mac address filtering that causes a lot more hastle for the owners. Accessing a corp network through any kind of wireless, especially one as public as this, is not a good idea.
