That would seem to be the most likely cause, but I wasn't exaggerating: Any destination with that hop in the route _never_ experiences any less than 2% packetloss. So while oversale is probably part of it, this is something more =\ (Still something to contact them on, and I have, but this was...
Thanks for checking that, I hadn't thought to get someone to ping it from the outside. If it keeps up I'll definitely start being a squeaky wheel. (Just had some major issues this afternoon with the bad connection, I'm assuming they've disabled it for the time being)
That's embarrassing, I did mislabel them. And I think I was vague; it was previously (Before July) a fiber connection. As far as I know (and the traces indicate) it's now a pair of comcast cable connections.
But that's disheartening if there is no way I can influence it =\
I was hopeful...
Well, the only hardware in my control is my router, a Asus wl500gp v2 with TomatoUSB 1.28/Shibby - any bonding/load balancing is done with/after the tower's backhaul.
I'm running Windows 8, use Netlimiter to keep latency from deteriorating under my load, and monitor the connections with...
Hey all,
I've been having a adventure with my W-ISP's over the years, and the latest issue is no different. I've been trying since July to get my ISP to look into it, but haven't had any luck yet - though technicians have come out and confirmed the issue. So, I come here for plan B.
(I am...
Looking forward to the invite myself, nothing like going back to that field of unadultered butt-duggery that was DotA. HoN's community was only a pale imitation.
This seems to be a pretty concise summary.
So; BF2 was a awesome PC shooter, BC2 was watered down/slightly slower version that was still good in its own right. (Of course, anyone is welcome to their own opinion)
Well, that's good news, so long as it plays well.
I meant that it seemed to be one of the main complaints people have against it currently. I suppose I haven't played BF2 itself enough to get a opinion there.
Yeah, this was a small pile of bull. They advertised it, sold the magazines, and some people got the code.
Then they stopped (Sent rejection letters) and other people are getting fraudulent charges to their cards.
I'd think it would be really frustrating to get this leak only to be able to sit at the lobby screen and not play.
Though I could be wrong.
Perhaps we'll get a community fix for that before beta opens up.
The spell icons are hilarious, though.
There's two big arguments, really.
One, is "it's just Bad Company 3". As abhorrent as it might be, I'm perfectly OK with that. I enjoyed BC2.
Two, is Origin. I pre-ordered through it, and honestly, it's less annoying than steam. Except for the part where it pops up when to boot up, then...
As far as making a account for a birthday code, it took me a couple accounts to get one, but it does indeed work. Try again if they don't.
Remember, gmail accounts all go to [email protected], even if you use [email protected]. Use to your advantage.
It is, technically. Realistically no, they have ... well, worse coverage than sprint where I live. Thanks for the suggestion though, I did look and their data plans seemed nice (Except the "Unlimited! Up to 2GB.")
Unfortunately kirbyrj is right. It might work if I lived in the city limits, but...
Huh. Well, I'm definitely giving it a shot, thanks for the advice. I actually had opened a ticket near the start of this year, but I still haven't picked up a stand-in card (it's my only machine).
Partly because it happens perhaps a couple times in a row, then not at all for weeks or even a...
So, underclock first, then restore stock (Which is what it is at) with a raised voltage if that works?
Also, temps are 46~c idle and 70~c load. I have the fan set to ~45% most of the time, auto control lets it get way hotter under load.
Well, I guess that pretty much settles finding a unlimited plan(x2). The challenge now is to find one before the 27th. Any more specific suggestions than "You'll use tons of data, find a unlimited", like where to look? (I'm browsing CellTradeUSA.com and CellSwapper, and have a want add on...
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I don't use much now, but man, I would if it were 4g.
The Vigor is what I couldn't remember, yeah. But that still begs the question, is there any way I can delay the credit for one of those while starting service before the 27th? (The last date I can port out...
Hey all,
Over the last eight months, my 5870 has started to occasionally grey-bar screen, recover, and come back with graphical glitches till reboot.
Before this, it randomly would crop up with checkerboard corruption at random places. Now, it will soft-lock for a few seconds with the...
So we've finally gotten fed up with the (lack of) Sprint service in our area and our house, which is absolutely horrible since no Airrave they send will connect to the network reliably. (They connect to it fine over our internet, though)
Verizon seems to be the only really reliable provider in...
Been messing around with this more.
Turns out it never gets throttled if a windows box with stock windows firewall (7, in this case) is sitting as the gateway (Via ICS) or only machine.
However, if I even switch it to a different firewall, it will at least occasionally throttle to 300kbit...
I've been working on trying random things that might fix this, and so far I've: Set up a old box with SmoothWall (Roadster) to see if it is the hardware or software.
It seems to be the way a "proper router"/"proper firewall"(?) responds to the network, because I have the same problem with the...
EDIT: See last post for easier/more specific question
Hi all,
The symptoms of my problem are fairly simple. If I'm directly connected (Computer <> Radio) everything stays fine.
If I use a router (Computer <> Router <> Radio), the downstream will randomly "cap" at 350kbps (out of 1mbit)...
Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.
I'll probably re-wire the case when the ram and cooler get here, will update after that.
Not that anyone really cares, but I figure it's mildly fun to see advice get used =P
Finished it!
Also includes the Cooler Master 590 + Scythe Gentle Typhoons/filters I picked up a few weeks ago, and still waiting on the other pair of G.Skill 1600s and a Hyper 212+.
Get while the getting is good, they say.
Wiring is a bit of a mess, I need to deal with the fan...
That's true. But, I've already gotten everything but the CPU ordered, so I'll just do it later if I need it, I'm ok with moving it around.
I'll post some pics once it's together, which should be end of next week. Thanks (everyone) for the help and advice!
Since I want to get another 22" for 3-wide eyefinity (two just doesn't work..), it may make sense. (Preferably another IPS, but one with DP so I don't have to pick up a 100$ converter.)
Granted, money available now isn't guaranteed to be available later. The difference between the HX620...
Doesn't look like it. Might not be able to get the combo either, both specials don't seem to be working any more (Unless it's only when you walk in the store to order). 750/UD3 separate and G.Skill then, I guess.
Dealhunting I go, if my internet will hold out.
It's quiet, until it's under...
Well, I had a big post typed out, then my internet cut out all day, I rebooted and lost the post. Suffice to say, you make a good point, and I'm still eager to tap the great hivemind of [H] for specifics, since I'm so far behind on my hardware knowledge.
Will be going with a 5850, hopefully...
I think I'm missing something..?
Passing it on is my preferred option, to be honest. I feel bad for the guy, he's lagging in every game we play, and a friend had promised him a pass-on for a couple years running.
A new SATA HDD will likely fit easily, good idea.
As far as the motherboard...
