I've been looking for a monitor with specific traits, and I am just wondering if someone knows of one that is out or coming out with the following traits:
Size: 23" or 24".
Ratio: 16:9 or 16:10 (either is fine).
Panel: IPS or PLS.
Screen coating: Light matte (like the new Dell monitors) or...
I was curious about the cable question myself a while ago. I did some research and according to the displayport standard group, any 1.1 cable should be able to handle 1.2. That could be why not many actually say they are 1.2 compliant.
I doubt there is any hope for it soon. 120hz monitors are geared towards gamers, not graphics professionals. So they all use a TN panel, have no DisplayPort, and no VESA mounts. The monitors geared towards graphics professionals are the ones that have VESA mounts, DisplayPort, and also have...
I just have a simple question. I was thinking of getting a Radeon 5000 or 6000 series vid card. I have no need for Eyefinity but I was wondering if I could use 3 monitors in independent extended desktop mode all hooked into the same card (would use DVI and DisplayPort). Thanks.
I can get the ZR24W through work for about $330. Not including the resolution advantage, is the ZR24W worth paying the extra $90 over the U2311 (after the coupon promotion)?
I don't know of any LED backlit monitors coming out soon that have IPS panels. The only one out that isn't considered a expensive $1000+ professional model is the Apple 24" Cinema display. I've been holding out myself to see if something else gets announced but I have seen anything yet. I...
I would pay a good amount of cash for a 24" monitor that has e-IPS panel, LED backlighting, and 120 Hz. I bet a lot of CRT die hards might switch to that too. I wish someone would make one soon.
Well this monitor is finally out on Newegg, here:

A bit expensive for a 24" TN panel. I would like to know how much better it looks than a standard TN.
I noticed that Lian-Li just released the A70F (which is now available on Newegg, and it's a full tower even though it says mid tower). It's 80 dollars cheaper than the B70. I'm trying to understand why. The only things I can tell is that the A70F uses a different 3.5" drive mounting...
Tim, do you know if any monitor manufacturers are going to be coming out with 24" IPS panel monitors soon that also have LED backlights as well? I am really surprised it hasn't happened yet for the under $1k price range, with the exception of Apple.

I think mini-DP will be an Apple only trend, much like mini DVI. I think regular DP is small enough as it is so I seriously doubt non-Apple manufacturers will use the mini standard.
These are now for sale on Newegg:

Anyone have one yet?
Anyone know why they don't have this monitor in their home office section? It seems like any IPS monitor is automatically considered a business monitor, but this one is so cheap I don't understand why they only have it in business section.
Well I think I am set on getting one of these cases. I wasn't planning on getting a full tower but these look really nice. I am not sure if I will get the hot swap version or not though.
I think I read somewhere that these will be out in March. I sure hope it's not later than that.
Saw these new cases on Lian-Li's website:

They look pretty nice. I like how the door swings open that holds the two front fans so you can swap drives or fans. Anyone know the difference between the two models? I see a minor cosmetic different on...
LED is just the type of back light, versus CCFL. LED back light can be used with any type of panel as far as I know (TN, IPS, PVA, etc). So yeah, most of these cheap panels like the Dells are probably TN.
Dang, so now is this going to be a growing trend where manufacturers not only fake the number of colors (like they have been for TN panels) but also fake the viewing angles? Now I bet there are going to be all these LED panels released but are going to be TN only....I really would like to see a...
Found this monitor on the CDW website...it shows the horizontal and vertical viewing angles as being 178 degrees. Don't think that would be a TN panel.
I am using firewire right now for an external hard drive but only because this is an old PC and it does not have eSata. For my next computer, I will not really care about it.
I'll be building a new system within the next 6 months or so and one of the toughest things to choose for me has been the case. There are a lot of good cases out there but seems they always have some big flaw that I don't like about them. I'm mostly interested in the Lian-Li/SIlverstone...
Just read that Anandtech article. I can't believe it will be 7+ months between the X58 and P55 launches. I really hope someone makes a cheaper X58 board with like only two PCIe X16 slots and 1 ethernet port or something. I have no doubt it would sell.
Not really sure, but I am curious to know how much slower the LGA 1156 platform with dual channel/DMI than the current x58/QPI/triple channel setup. The x58 boards out right now seem a bit overboard for what I need and overpriced.
Was wondering if anyone knows of any new 24" inch IPS displays coming soon. The HP LP2475w is out and sounds decent but wondering about other options coming soon. The Apple cinema display does not count, since it seems to be tied to their hardware. I am not looking for anything ultra...
Anyone own a Viewsonic VLED221wm? I was not even aware of this 22" LED backlit wide gamut TN monitor, but it's been getting really good reviews on tech websites and its price is down to around $450. Would like to know people's experience with it in terms of gaming and viewing angles. Also, is...
Anyone have a link for a bay converter that will allow 2.5" SSD's to mount in 3.5" bays? Specifically for a Lian-Li case. I've only found one so far, here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811993005
But it doesn't look that great, was wondering if anyone found a...
Hmm the Ikea Galant looks like a good choice for me because of all the desk space, although I am kind of hesitant because of a few comments about the quality. Can anyone who owns a Galant tell me if the craftmanship is decent? I just don't want the desk surface/edges to start peeling away...
