Ortho's are also planar headphones, and seem to share some of the same qualties minus the price. You can find some used and new on Ebay for 35-250. I just ordered a 78 vintage pair myself, and will give gaming impressions. I do know that one of their strength is detail, which is always good for...
It adds bits that are not there, if your DAC supports 24 bit, and upsamples to 192 hz. Someone whose opinion I trust, told me its like upconverting players, adding pixels that aren't there to offer a smooth, rich, detailed picture. I'm interested in getting one. Plus, the Jitter control is very...
Jude said it's one of the best dynamic headphones he's heard, period..& he heard them all. Jude is Headfi's Admin..It looks so beautiful too. I get the impression that it wipes the floor with the 650's..And uses a new radiant, or some cutting edge driver technology, detail/clarity/sound stage...

They are 'leak proof.'.. A new Sony technology/design. They offer subwoofer type bass, but a reviewer was impressed how the bass never distorted, even at high volumes, which is a...
A solid headphone amp and DH solution. I might pick it up for my 5 ohm 48's. I enjoy Yamaha's Silent Cinema SS processing, and is much better then DH in the 3D imaging department. Think pop up book.. The DH is better with 5.1 seperation, and gives a better sense of space and rear channel depth.
They seem to push it towards console gaming too. Supports USB, unbalanced rca, 2 optical, 2 coaxial, and is balanced.. I don't expect anyone here to fork over 449 for this, but never seen a hi end external dac that is console friendly..I had 1,000 DACs and the upgrade in sq is worth it to me.
It currently resides on the floor. Not the best setting.. And do those vibration thingys actulally work? I'm trying to lower the noise floor in my receiver.
The are probably the most open headphones on the market today. Too bad Sony discontinued them in the states. They are sold only in Japan.. But can still find some new and used on Ebay.. They were 225 on Audio Cubes.. But due to the poor American dollar, they now sell for 300.00. I bought mine...
Just got them in today. They are heavy and bulky. Ofcourse they are based off Beyers first headphone in 1937. They are closed and weight around 3lbs. The quality is all metal and very sturdy. Theres also rubber pading. The comfort level isn't the greatest either.
