I think an extra-THICC A4 would be great, now that high end video cards are 3 slots. But it's not a priority because it's easy to get 2 slot cards. Dan makes such a good product because he believes in limits. He could make a bigger case that fits more stuff... but that would be a different...

Nvidia Shield is the obvious answer, but fitlet2 is fanless if you absolutely must have fanless x86. The atom chip has more graphics cores than the celeron.

Because the case is unique, it requires a unique heatsink to perform best. For this reason, I see the heatsink as part of the case! I would buy them both at the same time!

The high temp is not a problem for stability testing! It should never get that hot in regular usage... You just need the stability testing to verify that your overclock is stable. Once your overclock is stable, you never need to run prime95 and see those high temps again. In my experience with...

I don't think orders will be available until close to shipping, because those companies need to buy and receive the cases from dan before they can sell them. The pcie-e riser can do it all! It's the best in the business! I think the i5-6400 will fit because it's tiny!

I think one reason for the performance degradation with more heatpipes is because the hottest heatpipes move closer to the center of the fan, where there is less airflow. You see, the tips of the fan move the most air. The center moves nothing. I think the most efficient design is 4 heatpipes...

Great proof of concept. You've added an output directly next to an input, and it worked. This is why I think reversing the PSU fan is a good idea to test! (Hint, hint, somebody try it!!!) Your cooler concept is basically dan's cooler concept, but he uses heatpipes because they are more space...

I prefer the A4 design. But if you must make a larger case, I recommend supporting 2.5 slot video cards, and larger CPU cooler from Noctua, Silverstone, etc. Congratulations for your new design!

this is why I recommend the 7700 non-k for this case... save some money ;) but 7700k will probably have more resale value later, this is true too.

based on the many results from this thread, this type of solution does seem to be the best. fans do not perform well when the input side is against a surface, and the solution to that is some distance and a duct. in this way the smaller, weaker heatsink of the noctua could beat the cryorig in...

DAN A4 is the answer to the question, but it's 2x more than your budget

there is some other data to back pr0pain's observations: dan's new heatsink had the best performance with the fan blowing air OUT of the case from below the heatsink. this is despite theoretically using hot air from inside the case...

this would be a fun project! I think it would be difficult because the aluminum is so thin, and hard drives are so heavy. but someone could try to do it! dan can make a v3 case, but that would be years away. so you should not expect anything ;)

to answer your question: YES it is worth upgrading! you do NOT need a new motherboard. just find what your motherboard supports, and get the best chip you can afford! you can always spend more money for faster. an i7-3770 is really fast, even though it is old.
