I'm not sure where to even place the files I want to share. Ideally, I could have a folder on the desktop or documents folder of each machine that I could just place files in and share.
I would like to network my main desktop (7 x64/Fedora 11) and my MSI Wind (XP) using a five port switch. Currently, Im able to ping each of the machines, but Im lost as to how to actually transfer files. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I don't really care about internet connectivity on any of them but my main desktop right now. I mainly want to be able to stream media over the netbook. Is it as simple as buying a wireless router and assigning a few IPs?
I'm trying to set up a way to connect my netbook, smartphone, torrent box and main desktop in my home. I can't get broadband, so I'm stuck on dial-up. Is wireless networking possible with only a dial-up connection?
I would bet that your drive will be fine. If it dies, I doubt the shipping journey had anything to do with it. Like was said earlier in this topic, most HDDs have a very high G force tolerance when they aren't powered on.
Every folder, by default, has this view:

I would like to change it so that this view is the default:

Can anyone help me do that? I've looked all over the place to no avail.
I'm in need of two 120mm green LED fans and one 80mm green LED fan. I would buy from Newegg, but they're charging me $15 for shipping and I refuse to pay that for a box that would weigh less than 1lb. Any of you all know where I could pick them up for a reasonable price?
Right now it's about 59c-62c. I'm going to up it to 3.0 and raise the vcore until its stable for at least a few minutes. I'll leave the test running when I go to bed tonight too.
Haha well I guess I'll have to buy one now. What if I do get it to run at, say 3.4ghz stable, and it's only running at 50c idle? Would I still need to buy another cooler?
I increased it by 25mV like you said, and I think it worked! CPU-Z now reads it as 1.312 instead of the 1.296 like before. I wonder how far I'll need to up to to run stable at 3.0ghz. Trial and error right?
To be honest, I think I'm changing the wrong setting and not actually the vcore. Can you look at the picture in my 1st post and tell me which setting is the vcore?
Well I ran Prime95 all night at stock speed and didn't get an error. At least I know my chip is stable at that speed. I'm going to move it up to 2.5ghz and test it some more.
In Windows, CPU-Z reports my voltage as 1.296 and I have it set to be 1.31. I manually set the ram to be a little slower because I figured it wouldn't be stable at over 800mhz. I plan on adding an aftermarket cooler, probably the AC7, but only if I can at least get this chip stable over 3.0ghz...
I've been overclocking my Q6600 recently, but I seem to have hit a wall. I can't get it to post past 333x9 (3.0ghz) and it isn't stable at that speed. Here's a picture of my bios settings to be sure I'm right: http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh27/johnrhance/settings.jpg
I thought maybe I...
With the Q6600 being under $200 now, I would definitely get it over the Q9series. I wouldn't even consider a dual core, especially since you're wanting this build to last a few years.
