290X, via DP. Windows 10, doesn't lose the monitor when I power it off. I used to have that problem with my previous monitor (4k monoprice) but not with this one. Generally, when I had that problem, DP negotiation would take a long time and sometimes drop back to 30hz too. Does yours take a long...
Not that I've noticed, does yours scan through the inputs? Or what are you seeing exactly?
If I shut mine off, nothing really happens.. I turn it back on and I'm back in Windows. I'm running 3 screens and none of my windows move/rearrange, so I don't think it's losing it.
Yeah, this is my biggest complaint after fiddling with it. There are two modes it's easy to flip between, game mode and whatever/regular mode. However, none of your settings persist... so every time you flip it, you have to reset them. Reallllllly dumb.
Agreed outside of that - the panel...
Yeah. The only thing that happened was during the Crimson install, I got a blue screen and had to reboot. Reinstalled it after that it seemed OK, apart from the second card 'failing'.
Haven't found any definitive fixes online - everything I found and tried has failed.
After installing Crimson, my second R9 290X has gone into code 43 in device manager and nothing has worked to coax it out. I've uninstalled it, ran driver cleaner, reinstalled drivers, tried installing...
Just got mine, very happy with it so far. Picture quality seems very good, FreeSync is great - didn't realize how much of a difference it'd make until I got a chance to use it.
I haven't spent a lot of time tweaking yet, but other than being too bright, it wasn't hideous out of the box. Going...
Best kept secret in home routers is Mikrotik (www.mikrotik.com) IMO. You need some networking knowledge to set them up, but they are insanely powerful, especially for the price.
I have a http://routerboard.com/RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN at home.
A lot of these guys suck, I have bought probably 25+ of these Korean monitors from various sellers and we've had 4 DOA. Every single time I had to get to the point of threatening to reverse charges to get them to do anything.
I'll probably do this and go surround at the same time, I'm thinking. Just wish some decent 8XX series GPUs were coming out around the same time, not sure I want to buy another 780ti..
They are on sale at Costco right now for $159 which seems like a pretty good deal. Doesn't seem like many people are talking about them here - any thoughts?
Someone earlier in the thread said it made text blurry. If I'm going to do this, I'd rather get something that can run 60hz without any caveats.. I just don't know if that exists.
Interesting. I'm basically trying to make my workstation into more of a general setup. Right now I'm rocking a 27" Korean monitor, but I spend most of my time in the basement (where our computer room is setup.) I'd like to make my workstation more of a general entertainment area where I can kick...

I get that it is only HDMI and I believe I can't do 4K out of my video card right now (780Ti) via HDMI, but from a spec perspective.. why...
Yep, I realize I'm probably being way too much of an early adopter right now. But *if* that Vizio screen does 60hz via DP, it would be one hell of a gaming setup.
Because I am interested in one of the Vizio 50" 4K screens. Thinking of wall mounting it, moving my desk 2 feet back and rocking it for day to day use. Whether I will end up doing it, I don't know.. but I'm not sure I want 4K at 28". I already have 1440p at 27" and I'd like to get some more size...
I think it was specifically in regards to HDMI rather than DisplayPort. I'm hoping the new Vizio 4K TVs coming out have DisplayPort, that's why I've started digging into it.
Been eyeing this as an upgrade to my 128GB M4 for a while. If it was just a little cheaper I'd jump all over it - this same unit is normally available for $299-309 at various places online.
The free sock is tempting though.
Edit: F it, in for one.. thanks for the link!
I think 2560x1600 always had too high of a premium and too many caveats. With the upcoming 120hz 2560x1440 screens and the 60hz 4K screens, I think things might start to move forward a little quicker..
Yeah, with 4K on the horizon, it will be interesting to look back in a couple of years. I think 1080P for PC gaming is going to look very old fashioned :)
It wouldn't be worth replacing two 770s with a 780ti unless you have something like a multi monitor setup and you're going to go SLI 780tis, I don't think.
I would hold out personally - Newegg had Zotac 780tis for $619 only a couple of weeks ago, a few of us on here picked one up. I would imagine they will be available at that price again at some point soon..
The thing that sucks about these rebates is that they are mostly handled by third parties and, I agree, they are often a PITA to deal with. I wish some of the manufacturers realized they actually end up losing business because they endeavor to make these rebates such a pain to obtain.
