Just get two 280 GTX's. There is hardly any performance boost from going 2X 280GTX's to 3.
Actually, some of the games show LESSER performance with Tri-SLi.
Just because people don't trust charts like that, doesn't mean they hate AMD. Personally, I have always been an AMD fan but I still thank that chart is BS.
I want to see some actual benchmarks when Phenom II's gets released.
3Dfx Voodoo 3 > Radeon 9600 Pro > Radeon 9800 Pro > Radeon X1300 (Died few months after) > Nvidia 6800 Ultra (Still going strong in my second PC) > Nvidia 7600GT (Later on added a second card for SLi) > Radeon HD3870 (Died) > Nvidia 9800GTX > and hopefully, a 280 GTX in few days.
The AGP version of HD3850 has a bad driver support. I know this because I have used one. They haven't released any working drivers for it. The only drivers that work are the ones that come with your CD, and I must say that they are pretty bad aswell. I had to format my computer just to get...
I installed this on my brothers PC (AMD 64 X2 4200+ @ 2,6ghz, 2GB, Geforce 9600GT) and I noticed huge performance increase in most of the games. Especially in Supreme Commander and Crysis.
I ran Crysis benchmark with, and without AMD Fusion. Average FPS was about 6-8 higher with Fusion. I'd...
You should get the Q6600 if you do heavy multitasking.
Btw, why would you want to get an old card like 8800GTS G80? There are a lot of better cards for the same or even lower price.
I'd get a Radeon HD4850 or Nvidia 9800GT/GTX instead.
I'll post pictures of some of my old hardware when I find my camera. I have plenty of old PC's and hardware from 1993-2000. Too bad I don't have a C64 anymore. I sold it to some collector few years ago.
Phenom tri-cores have pretty much abysmal gaming performance. Pretty much every X2 beats Toliman's in gaming benchmarks.
So Kuma will pretty much destroy Toliman.
Thats quite impressive. It was faster than 2,6GHz Brisbane only at 2,3GHz. And since you can overclock it up to more than 3GHz, who knows how well it will perform.
And the price is VERY reasonable.
Way to go AMD!
Thats from Assembly Summer 2008, thats organized twice a year in Finland. Its more of a demoscene party than a Lan party though. I have been there 5 times now.

According to that benchmark, AMD 64 X2 6000+ beats Phenom in every gaming test apart from Supreme Commander, which is one of those games that truly take advantage of quad core.
Arctic cooling coolers are definately the best bang for the buck.
My brother has the cheapest
AC cooler and it keeps his 90nm windsor amd 64 6000 under 50 celsius on full load.
Well, HD2600's and 3650's are good for everything except gaming. I think the HD3850 is the most powerful AGP card out.
Anyway, if you don't mind me asking. Why would you want to game with a HTPC?
Umm, may I ask why do you want "upgrade" to an old card like that? They are usually around 250-300 dollars. You can get ALOT better video cards with a lot lower prize.
You should get a HD4850 or 9800GTX instead.
97%? Thats bull if you ask me. When I was a bit younger, only some people in my school played video games.
Like stated before, it was most likely 97% of the people who surveyed.
