All Adobe CS2 products (FREE. LEGAL)

CS2 was for PowerPC. You'd need to be running a version of OSX with Rosetta stone to get it to work. I don't think there's been a Rosetta for OSX since 10.5 or 10.6. You can always bootcamp into Windows and install the x86 version there!

Corsair Giveaway - Force Series™ GT 180GB Solid-State Hard Drive

A crucial SSD would look wonderful next to my Crucial power supply. That, and I have a 74 gig raptor, first gen, still kickin'. I'm sure it'd like to retire and go to sunny Florida after a little trip to Darl's Boot and Nuke camp.

Nintendo 3DS Sales Jump 260% After Price Cut

Not just you. A handful of my co-workers constantly say things like "Hey, Fry's has this 46" LG LCD for $900! Should I buy it?" I see that it's $999 and say, "Hey, why don't you look at this 46" Sony. It's $1100 (1099), for for a hundred bucks more, you'll be happier with your purchase."...

Staples $100 off any* tablet - valid through 7/30/2011

Went to the Office Depot near me to pick one up. I brought up the slip and the coupon. The clerk was shocked by the coupon, said it was an unbelievable deal, and then called the manager to see if they accepted it, which he confirmed. The clerk then called the back room and mentioned I had...

Was the Dreamcast ahead of its time?

There were a few things that killed the Dreamcast, Sony's bullshot marketing being one of them. I had a Dreamcast, loved it. Then I saw the PS2 tech demos and was absolutely floored. FF8 cutscenes done in real time? Holy cow! Then the PS2 came out and it looked like... ass, I felt -so- burned...

Is 2011 THE year for PC RPGs?

I would remove Diablo 3 from the list. If it comes out in 2011, I'll do a Halo marathon. But since a game like Diablo 3 is considered an RPG, then toss Torchlight 2 on there. That's coming out this spring.

Battlefield 3: No Win XP Support!!

Now you have a reason to change. There are tons of places where one can buy 7 digitally for cheap. There's no reason for a 10 year old OS to hold everyone back. We have 5 year old consoles doing that.

Logitech G35 Surround Sound Headset For $64.99 + Free Shipping.

They're ok. Great for that price. Mic works well. The actual headphones are... ok. They're close eared and I ended up YELLING A LOT because of it. My biggest qualm is that they're pretty heavy.

Fallout NV (PC) 29.99 at Best Buy

Well, this is going to sound weird, but; It plays more like an RPG It plays more like an FPS. The role playing stuff plays a larger role. You'll spend more time playing up the various factions, either aligning, or destroying them. It never made sense in FO3 for the BoS to take in a crazed...

Dragon Age 2 System requirements and PC gameplay revealed.

Not gonna lie. The lack of birds eye camera sucks, but the tactical gameplay, sans the camera looks seems pretty much like DA:O. I keep swinging back and forth on this title, but that video has put me back in the favorable camp. I'll probably end up picking it up right away unless it gets...

    Witcher 2 to have a DRM-Free version... but there's a catch

So, we complain when publishers treat legit customers like thieves. When a publisher treats paying customers well, we complain that they're threatening thieves. Huh. Just the threat of having someone actually come after you should at the very least make a very casual pirate think twice. Make...

Games for Windows Marketplace gets Major Overhaul on 11/15

Kind of a laughable launch. Yay. A $12 GTA? I do believe I picked it up on Steam for $8 last year. I can't filter games by genre? DLC floods the main store instead of being sub-options from the main game's screen? C'mon MS. How hard is it to "double down" on PC gaming? Make your...

OMG, Gran Turismo is actually ready!

Well, the PS3 was also supposed to be a pure 1080p system when it was first announced. I'll believe GT5 is out when I'm sitting on my couch, playing the crap out of the Top Gear test track in a reasonably priced car. Otherwise, it's just "Someone from Sony said some stuff. Yawn."

Broken PC Games, why even bother

Hm. Odd. I've played ME1 just fine on an old AMDx2 + 8800gt to completion a while back. I never had any problems with it. When I retired the card to a friend of mine, she had some issues with ME that ended up being caused by video drivers. My original Fallout 3 is about as stable as Lindsay...

    Fallout: New Vegas - Questions/Opinions

As a sufferer of Asian flush, you can keep your beer. Glad it worked. I'm quite eager to go home in five minutes, pop in the quick fix, get sucked in, and then have to drag my ass to fencing in an hour. Every bout, I'm going to see my opponent in a VATS like cut out. Head meshes seem to...

    Fallout: New Vegas - Questions/Opinions

I snagged the info from the DX wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX#DirectX_10 It is a crappy engine, and it won't take care of the micro-stutter that has plagued all the Gamebryo powered games thus far. But there are dozens of users who report that this fix works for the NPC issue.

    Fallout: New Vegas - Questions/Opinions

Someone on the Bethesda boards seems to have pinpointed the problem. I'm at work, so I can't comfirm personally but it seems dropping in a DX9 dll resolves the issue. Numerous random interweb people have confirmed it works. Since 7 and Vista emulate 9 it does make sense. Multiple threads from...

Microsoft Wants to Lead PC Revolution

The big problem I have is I have felt that since the XBox, Microsoft has gone out of their way to harm PC gaming to make their console seem more appealing. Couple this with their desire to branch out into every market and they seem like they have ADHD. Kin! Kinect! Zune! I have a feeling...

Steam: Bethesda weekend deals, 50%-75% FO3 and Elder Scrolls titles

Yeah. Just spoke to a friend who picked this up during the Steam sale and OBSE works just fine. Going to pick up Oblivion for myself. I always lose the discs or get them scratched up, and for $8, the convenience can't be beat.

Red Dead Redemption PC version after all?

Anamorphic widescreen. It's 4:3, stretched out horizontally, so technically you are rendering at 1080p. Just not widescreen 1080p. MGS4 did this, too. Most people don't notice a difference between sub 720, 720, and 1080, I'd say. Motion blur and super bloom aren't stuffed in every game...

Red Dead Redemption PC version after all?

Actually... 640p on the PS3. Since I only have my PS3 connected nowadays, I'm not going to bother with RDR unless there's a PC port down the line. I picked up GTA4 on the 360 when it first came out, and after a while, it just sort of became unplayable. I never bothered hopping on a...

    Razer earphones BBBM YMMV 29.99

Yes. These aren't really headphones in a general MP3 player sense since these have a microphone built-in as well. Poke through the computer section. You'll find all the headsets with mics there and at the BB by me, these headphones were located there.

Creative World of Warcraft Wireless Headset Review @ [H]

After reading this review, PC Gamer's review, and hearing it in action on the PC Gamer podcast, I decided I'd get these. I went to Fry's and had to wade my way through open box returns of these to find the last one that was still brand new. Initial impression? Slick packaging. Until I had to...

    Razer earphones BBBM YMMV 29.99

They have these at the Lombard, IL. Best Buy for $17.99. They've been that price for a while, and the last time I went there to get more (two weeks ago.) they still had about 30. I bought one and then went back a few days later for another pair. They're great headphones, especially for the price.

Why BFBC2 is better than MW2

Ya'll need to read the article. It's actually well written for something put up on a small blog; the quality is higher than that on a larger blog like Kotaku/Joystiq/D-toid, and much better than something written on a forum. The writer of the blog stated he liked it because it is less like a...

Mass Effect 2, BioWare's perfect game...

The role playing in RPG is well... roleplaying. Killing 100 boars to get the Axe +2 of Boarkilling to kill Dire-Boars is not role playing. That's hacking and slashing. Spending talent points to increase your fireball's blast radius 2m to synergize with your chaos bolt's stun is min-max'ing. Sans...

Mass Effect 2, BioWare's perfect game...

I dunno. I don't see an RPG as "character stat advancement in order to gain and overpower things." That's action-rpg to me. Simple dungeon crawling, getting loot, etc. For years, the staple of PC gaming was having boot disks for every game, running memmaker to try to squeeze out another 4k...

I dunno. I'm kinda traumatized by people in space suits where you can't see their faces. Vashta Nerada victims. I don't think Tali casts a shadow, either. Creepy... But really, why just have one game? Mass Effect 2 is out now. Plays nothing like Max Payne, sorry. The combat's faster...
