turns out the evga 750i ftw drivers on cd (actually, was an issue with all 750i boards and possibly others from what i read) were buggy. uninstalled sata controllers then reinstalled 15.23 drivers from nvidia's website and not one bsod or hdd issue since. thanks for the info guys. i'll be...
ok, now it's giving me bsod and won't load windows xp home (only os i have tried) if i have the second sata hdd hooked up. error is irql_not_less_or_equal and says something about drivers. if i unhook the drive it works great. no issues in hardware manager for drivers.

i'm planning on building a semi budget/semi gaming computer when i get my tax return. the board i'm currently looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128358 which is a gigabyte GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 mobo. the only thing that scares me is the fact...
i know i shouldn't pay attention to the inquirer, but is there really an issue with the G92s and G94 gpus? this is gonna effect my whole build if it is. i can't find hard evidence online atm (which should be an indicator to me)
