My 21" CRT died totally some days ago, so I had to go for an LCD monitor.
After been following the LCD market for some month now and also read a lot of valuble threds in this forum I purchased the LG L227WTP-PF.
I know it's only 22" with 1680x1050 res. but I will only use it to PC. I hope...
Thx ToastyX, so sad I was like Lostman hoping this would the monitor to use until OLED.....
How can Samsung do such a bad job..? Ghosting like really old screens and black crush so bad calibrated...?
Was there any noise from the monitor when lowered the brightness..?
Seems to be a nice display. Blacks - Colour are really good, a bit of ghosting and when viewed from angel colour get a bit vanished. DELL 2009WA have better viewing angel but you get "IPS-glow" in black areas. Can't see any input lag test clearly...
Power consuption seems low compared to...
Seems that retail date has moved a week or too fwd here in Sweden, middle of July is the new date.
Well no problem it's summertime so it will not be a new monitor until end of August anyway.
There where an LG W2420P (IPS) press release in March, shipping July but now rumor say it is cancelled. LG NORDIC could not confirm or deny.
Samsung F2380 (cPVA) will arrive at online shops at 3rd July in Sweden if not delayed...
The perfect LCD does not exist. Maybe OLED will give us new wonderful monitors...but until then maybe LG new IPS or Samsung cPVA is good enough for a fair price...
seems that panel discussions always start the flame-war....
be sure that I going to check what this new cPVA is and also check the new LG W2420P IPS type...
all this while waiting for OLED panels....
Hmm could Samsung release new PVA screens soon..?
"The 20in (1,600 x 900) F2080 and 23in (1,920 x 1,080) F2380 deliver brand-new cPVA panels offering true 178-degree viewing angles and a stunning native contrast ratio of 3,000:1 (150,000:1 Dynamic), all while using a mere 45W (for the larger...
The "glow" is related to IPS, all IPS based screens have it. It can be reduced by using an A-TW Polarizer but not many manufactors has done so. NEC has it on some monitors. I wonder what it had cost to implement it on the DELL 2209WA..? If you read this thread or other threads you will see that...
This NEC 2490WUXi seems to be a monitor that I could accept but it's a bit pricy for me and I don't think they are sold in Sweden...
Good reviews albovin
Yeah but in the long run it has been said that OLED is cheeper to produce than LCD...
...this could also be fact why we wont see OLED because panel makers have invested quite a bit of money in LCD tech.
...I don't think so..!!!!
After being disappointed on several LCD screens I have read a lot of what OLED screens should bring us.
- fast response time (0.1 - 0.01 ms)
- high contrast (1000000:1)
- very good viewingangels almost 180 degrees
- low power need
Well all this sound like a...
Thinking of returning my DELL 2209WA.
- when lower brightness below 80-85% the screen make some buzz-tone-noise
- black has a layer of silver/bronze if you do not view it from 90 degrees which means that corner of the screen has this effect when sitting in front of it.
- I would like to lower...
Hmm Prad.de test of 2209WA is translated to english: http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2009/review-dell-2209wa.html
Not so good for gaming they say.
Well since my 2209WA has arrived today I think only test during the weekend can tell if it's OK for gaming or not.
Price being lower and lower in Sweden which is nice but how is this display for games..?
Ghosting...input lag etc...?
I would say that I'm a medium gamer.. FPS (multiplay) .. RTS games most.
Just want to ask you who have this monitor if you compare the black level vs a TN monitor who is best..?
At http://www.digitalversus.com/article-358-4862-88.html they complain a bit in the black level..?
Price has droped in Sweden so this monitor is now in the budget limit but since I was...
Whyyyyy do I live in Sweden..? Price in Sweden is about 460 USD...direct from DELL.
Well I keep looking for a new screen (had BenQ 2400WD but black was grey so I returned it)
Hi, are you able to run the 1:1 pixelmapping funktion in the videocard (ATI) on the LCD LG L227WT or LG W2252TQ....?
Anyone tested to run like 1440x900, 800x600...?
//Perra
Where is ViewSonic...and the rest of the monitor companies...
Would indeed see what 120Hz monitor will bring before I buy me a new LCD monitor.
