I had problems with 197.13 breaking some old DX8 games. There's already a new 197.25 beta out that fixes that.

If you go to the Windows control panel where you set the screen resolutions, do you see the icons for the 2 monitors side-by-side? You should be able to drag the icon for your second monitor and make it sit above your primary monitor.
