I buy a LOT of SSD's (Over 150 per year), and I haven't seen the 128 or 120 GB this low in a while.

Here is the control box & software: http://www.alemite.com/catalog/details.aspx?identifier=fluidman_accuguardpc
If I disconnect the cable coming from the control box to the parallel port printer, the program tells me that it can't see the printer and nothing prints ... So I've ordered a...
I have an industrial piece of equipment that leads to a control box. From that control box, there is a serial cable that leads to the computer, which has the software on it for viewing data, printing reports, etc...
There is a 2nd cable that comes out of this control box that has 7 wires in...
No I don't... ordering a hot spare for Monday as well.
I just need this server to get through the next 6 hours, and I'm good until Monday... my largest concern is our main SQL server, so I'm just going to push all the transactional logs to our NAS. I got complete back-ups of all the virtual...
I have a HP ML350p running RAID5 with 6 drives. The RAID controller is a Smart Array P420i. The drives are mid-line 1 TB SAS (HP part # 652749-B21).
One of the 6 drives has failed, and HP is sending a replacement via overnight. This server is a host running about 6 different virtual machines...
Out company currently uses Google Business Apps and had no email for about 1 hour today ... I'm done with Google for our company email. We are switching to Rackspace.
We do. Outlook integrates with our Oracle CRM. Excel & Word integrate with our electronic document system. Kaspersky integrates with Outlook as well.
Most people here are home users ... Us big boys in the corporate/business world need/use a lot of these functions.
I would verify you even have Active Directory ... Check the TCP/IP configurations on one of current desktops and let us know what your DNS server is. Doing a IPCONFIG /ALL from a command line and pasting it here would help.
Yes, it is a management nightmare that I inherited ... All will be changed once this stupid contract is up .. Hard to work around it in the meantime.
I was hoping these things work work like a home-brew version where they create their own 192.168.0.xxx range ... guess now, ah well. I'll have...
I'm looking to deploy my first Unifi wireless network here at work... Probably looking at 5 devices. My question is this: Does the software on these devices allow you to specify an IP range for clients connecting to it, or am I tied into the IP address range of the wifi access point?
My...
Guys, stop with the 10K/15k drives, that is overkill for this small operation... Save some money and go with some cheaper drives. You won't notice the difference.
We back up all of our servers to NAS, which is then replicated to another NAS off-site at another location of ours.... You will...
I have a folder I created on a ReadyNAS 2100, but I can't delete it. I've tried the following from elevated command prompts:
~ cacls W:\Charleston /g username:F <--- Results in Access is denied
~ icacls W:\Charleston /grant username:F <--- Results in Access is denied
~ takeown /f...
Make sure everyone on your domain has READ permission on the file you want to copy over ... I had the problem where it wouldn't copy a file over, and I had to go reset all the file permissions on it.
I use a combination of DriveImage XML and Ultimate Boot CD (To restore images) to do this ... All of it is freeware/opensource so no costs involved. Between work & home, I've done well over 100 this way with no problem -- Windows XP and Windows 7.
Sounds like your boot order is setup to boot from HD first, so that is why it isn't booting.
Or plug an External USB Drive (or a flash drive) if you are trying to boot to something else.
Yes, a virus can disable CD/DVD drive usage, USB drives, etc... But this would only be under Windows.
My advice would be to look at certications that you want to learn more about, and start going down the path to being an "expert" in that area... If you really enjoy networking, go the Cisco route. If you really enjoy Microsoft and their products, go that direction. If you are into databases, go...
We use a program called FileHold for all of our corporate document management. We have items automatically added from our business system, scanned in, electronically added, etc... But you can set access from cabinet level all the way down to file level. It is probably more than you need, but we...
I think acetone also removes it ... I got some on my hands a couple projects ago, and it was a bitch to remove it without some chemicals. I'm sure the guy will figure it out.
I have a really unusual and unique career path, and have spent the last 15 years in my particular business. I've only spent the last 3 in my current position of IT, but I've done just about everything else here. My degree is in Business, and I've been the Manager of departments doing excess of...
Just wanted to update everyone ... I ended up getting bumped up to $85,000 before bonus's, plus they agreed to give me at least 1 weeks paid training per year.. So with my bonus I should be in mid-$90k range no problem.
I also hired a Jr Admin/Help Desk employee (right out of college) to take...
Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'm going to start researching them on Monday ... I'm off to the beach for the weekend with the family to do some Christmas stuff, so I'm going to completely forget about this until then! :)
Well, if any one was like me, they just started using any of the other 100+ cyber lockers -- RapidShare, FileServe, Hotfile, RapidGator, etc... There are literally hundreds of them. Good luck MPAA. This is like emptying the ocean one spoonful at a time.
No, they don't work like that. They only broadcast Internet wirelessly, they don't receive it wirelessly.
You will need to get a PowerLine Adapter. Cords go from Internet Source -> 1st Wifi -> Powerline Adapter -> Powerline Adapter -> 2nd Wifi...

Here is my situation.
We have 6 physical locations spread through-out the State. We have a Barracuda WebFilter 410 that monitors web traffic. On Friday, I started getting email alerts on high TCP usage. We should normally have 200-300 connections at this time of day, and we had over 3,000. I...
