I have 3k hours played so far in this game and haven't bought gems or anything with real money yet. The pve bores me, but competitive pvp is where the real good stuff is. If you play by yourself and don't join a guild then you will be bored though, same as any mmo.

I use a 6100 (6 core) and it simply is not fast enough for good fps in zergs. Overclocking improves it tremendously, but there is always a limit. I would look at something faster than a 8350, even if it means less cores/threads or plan on doing a lot of overclocking.

You can turn on free camera in the options btw. I think it has the annoying snap-back still, but I don't need to turn my character to turn the camera.

I was having a lot of CPU stuttering, so I went down to stock speeds and it runs smoothly now. Shadows also create a huge amount of lag, so turning that off helps.
