Even if you look at the pictures it is obvious that it isnt a TN panel.
And none of the people who have seen it live believe it is a tn.
And LG says it is no tn.
Therefor are those claims rather ridicolous.
LG says IPS. What they say about a monitor with different specs on another market isnt intresting. Different panels for different markets is not something new.
Toasty. It is actually funny to read your comments. I believe in users who actually have seen how it performs. And they say it is much better than a TN panel.
If you slag off a monitor just because you dont like a photograph from an extreme angle there must be something wrong with you considering the competition for 27 inch monitors.
A guy at overclock.net allready has it. He says it is a great monitor for the money.
It is an UH-IPS panel. Higher contrast than standard-IPS, and lower powerconsumption but less good viewing angles.
A pic of the monitor showing a white background would be great. (noticable tint)
Thank you!
Is white glow noticable btw? (the screen turns brigther when watching dark areas from angle.)
Do you find the colors oversaturated when using normal mode? Or do you like the colors?
I have read that the input lag is 14 ms(0-30ms) in normal mode and 30ms(20-34) in sRGB. If the colors are nice in normal mode this should be a great monitor.
The thing is that that the best format for reading is 4:3 so no matter if you use 16:10 or 16:9 it is best to do it in windowed mode. The difference is that you get more space to multitask with 16:9.
I think within 1-2 years basically all monitors are 16:9. Cheaper and better. 16:10 is kind...
A friend of mine has a 16:9 monitor and I have to say that I like that format better than 16:10. It is better to move your head sideways than up and down. And the human eyes suits a 16:9 monitor better. Next time I buy monitor it will be a widescreen.
Never. I think 30" is to big for a monitor. 24" is pretty much perfect.
Recently The mainstreamsize has been reduced.
24" 16:10 is bigger than 16:9 24".
The price is 4995 SEK in Sweden which indicates that the price will be $500 or something like that in the U.S.

I actually see a rather big differens in those examplespics.
That the screen get darker on the top is actually disturbing. The main problem is that you have to stay 2 meters away from a 24" monitor to not notice the vieingangleproblems even if you look straight on it.
I have a TN now but I...
I think the 242H looks better imo.
Sad that that one doesnt have 2GTG respons time.

Are into buiyng a non TN screen. Any recommendations. Are there any good screens on the way to the market?
Some screens I have looked at.
NEC MultiSync EA241WM - not much info
BenQ FP241W - Seems good but to bright? and 2 years old.
HP 2475w - People seems not sure here
IOs there really...
I watched this monitor earlier this year in a store and was impressed by the picture. However I later read that it had noticable banding which ruined the experience in games and movies. Isnt this the case for you.
