yeap, It has been a great year. And ATI finally got the fastest GPU crown again. But the most interesting price cut was the NVidia's 9800 line's price cuts. some down by almost half in one night...!!!!!
Dragon, wake-up.
Other than the drawbacks the guy before mentioned, one of significant draw back in dual card solutions is that since the memory is not shared, both GPU cores has to has their own data in their respectable memory arrays. This leads to heavy memory data redundancy, since most of the times both...
Sorry man, It was for a customer (no i dont have 6grands to spend on a computer) and e already picked it up. If you had mentioned earier, i might have tried to run som bench. and take some photos.
But no.
im sorry.
Well,
If you know the chipset sucks, and when ATI is kicking Nvidia out of it's crown, why in the name of the god would you wanna buy a 680?? And it is obvious that it can never beat the reliability of an intel chipset...!!
?????:confused::confused:
Hi,
Could anybody recomment me a decent heatsink/fan for the northbridge chipset of a skulltrail system?
And if anybody knows a fan that I can install without taking the motherboard out, like clipping into the heatsink, that is greatly appreciated. Due to the weird size of the heatsink, I cant...
I was wondering if D5400XS motherboard would support 4x PCI-E cards.
I am going to use 3ware 9650SE 4 channel RAID controller card which needs electrical 4x PCIE slot. so the problem is, would the motherboard automatically adjust (decrease) number of lanes?????
help me out plz..

Thank you everybody for helping me out on this matter. I actually called Intel in the morning and they confirmed what you guys said (I am reading the replies just now). The ESB IO controller supports only up to 2TB. I am gonna use a 3rd party RAID controller for the customer.

Well, I may be wrong, But isnt that 2TB limit is for windows partitions containing the MBR. I am not usin this partition as a boot partition. And theoritically with default cluster size (4kB), NTFS shud go upto abt 16TB. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS)
And XP installation detects the...
Well, let me explain a little more. This unit has bus ID 0 and 1 free, 2 is RAID(HDDs3,4,5.6) AS raid 5. And I was trying to install XP on the first HDD (BUS ID 0). Usually when you select a raw HDD, it creates a partition with full space (In this case, 1TB) and asks to format. But with the...
(I hav a duplicate thread on Motherboard saection too...!!)
I was building a system for a person with RAID5. I am using 4 1TB (SATA) Hard drives and when you select RAID5 in the Matrix Storage Utility, It gives you only 2TB of storage. But supposedly 4X1TBs RAID5ed shud give you 3TB...
No. As far as I know, windows itself has no limitations, it is the file system that the drive is partitioned (and of course the motherboard I/O controller) that holds the limits. FAT16 has a 4GB limit. FAT32 and NTFS goes far beyond than 1000TB. So no.
Well, as the second poster said, If those are the same chipset you will probably be fine, But since the old one was crossfire that should be an Intel chipset whereas SLI comes only on Nvidia chipsets. So I dont think that would work. But you can try doing a windows repair from the disk. It might...

I think AMD is got a huge hit here. most people do not use laptop for gaming. Plus, you will not be able to play high end games at good fps and still manage to have 3hr battery life. So their approach is perfect.
Having a IGP that can do HD movies perfectly fine. And something that can play...
Well, the power consumption of X850XT is pretty high. And if you are considering an 8800 series card, 8800GTS(G92) will be pretty similar. And of course 8800GT has a lower power consumption. So anything below that power level will be perfectly fine.
For ex. I have been running my system off...
dude, then try 299mhz!!!! lol:p:p
well running over 65C is not preferable at all. the Highest for Q6700 is 71C. and if you are running at 68 when you are not even running bench's that IZ CALLD HOT!!:eek:
mine runs at 55-60 at benchmarks at stock voltages(1.275) @320X10
oh!! btw, im...
