I've been using the Dell OLED monitor (and multi OLED TVs.. laptops and phones) and have not burn in. Sure, people can be dummies.. but i've not stressed it and nor should others.
I'm a little bummed that there isn't a gaming version yet. Maybe LG will shrink down their screens a bit smaller...
There are required changes for 2.1 (for the bandwidth side of things. Other stuff like eARC can work with old cables.) (i put the link and quote on the first post about it.)
So, 100% an old cable will not work for 4k 120. That said, will the uncertified cables do it? Maybe? maybe not? But there...
I don't think there are any officially certified hdmi 2.1 cables yet. (there are some Chinese ones that say they are, but with not certified logo on their packaging.)
(it is a new cable. Your old cable isn't going to "maybe work" - it won't, unless it was built to the new spec.)...
AdamK47 nice setup!
I'm also waiting for mr cyberpunk in my home too. Just added a tube amp. (which will keep me warm in the winter!)
LG 77" C9
i9-10980XE @ 5ghz
2080 ti (kingpin) SLI (oh god i hope cyberpunk uses sli! )
Denon X8500H AVR
PrimaLuna Evo 400 integrated amp with KT150 tubes
3 x...
I'd rather take 120fps than gysnc at 60hz. It isn't like i'm not upgrading in sept... so something to hold me over till then. Now the issue is that is isn't really out :( ie, no place has it for sale yet.
https://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2496/displayport_1.4_to_hdmi_4k120hz_hdr_active_adapter_m-f/
I'm really looking forward to getting this. (it doesn't seem to be on sale yet.)
I'm connecting my HT PC (kingpin 2080ti SLI) to LG c9 77"
MS didn't turn skype into a business product. It is still a stand alone, consumer only product. (I've never used it so i can't comment on how it has changed.)
MS did renamed a older product Microsoft Lync to Skype for Business (and it looks like they are going to change it again!) But it...
darn.. i really liked this site.. but one of my internet rules is once people start saying "SJW" i stay away. The only people that use that term are really grumpy dudes that hate on everyone. (tho honestly that hate can a lot of the time be felt from megalith's post anyone.)
The scaler isn't bad in most of the new TVs. I have a few of the LG OLED TVs (including one of the 2017 models.)
But not "... the only 4k converter you need...". That is crazy. :) Both my Receivers (Denon AVR-X7200WA / Pioneer SC-LX901) and my oppo-203 do a much better job at upconverting vs the...
i tried custom resolution at 1080p and 1400p (using dp. which is 1.2 on the monitor and 1.4 on the video card)
only 1080p 75hz worked. Not 90hz or 120hz (nor 75hz at 1440p)
Quick report:
I got the monitor (it feels a lot smaller than the 32" i was using, but that is partly because of the smaller bezel.)
DP to USB-C didn't work. (I was hoping to see if i could get higher than 60hz @ 4k. But dp 1.2 nor hdmi 2.0 can do that.)
Yes, it can take a 10bit input.
Input lag...
Please report back when you get it. I'll most likely pick it up when it hits amazon. I'd rather deal with them than dell if I want to return it.
Darn timing. I'm having my g6 and c7 calibrated tomorrow. It would have been nice to do the monitor too.
I wonder what dell is doing for anti IR. I...
yeah, i have the 2016 and 2017 LG oleds and the input lag is nice. (i have a tester too.. 2016 g6 is 32ms and the 2017 c7 is 21ms)
I don't have a problem spending the money.. maybe even without the 120hz (maybe.. ), but now that I've seen HDR gaming - i think that would be a deal breaker for...
wait a sec.. wasn't this cancelled?
but it is on sale and ships in 2 weeks...

NOOOOOOO! i really don't want this screen. I want it a little larger and DP 1.3/1.4.... but OLED...
You can return games. I do it on steam all the time. I also pre-order for the pre-order bonus. If i don't like a game I return it.
This isn't a big deal.
I'm confused why the mouth breathers get into such a fit about this.
The only reasons not to pre-order (if you wanted to) are: you can't...
It is mostly a single/co-op game.. and not an MMO. After you finish the missions and do the few level 30 stuff - there is no reason to keep playing.
it is a 20-30 hour game once people finish there is no reason to keep playing. There is nothing wrong with that. Most games have less play time.
I...
yeah, at the end of march dell is coming out with a 32" OLED screen for $4999.
I'm going to wait a few month to see if there are any show stopper bugs (which sometimes happens with dell monitors) yeah! i'm looking @ you titled 4k dell screens (and you too sharp!) ... both of which i own >.<...
Hopefully they aren't trying to pull a fast one like with TVs.. and they mean 120hz output. i doubt that is the case.
RE: IR (image retention - burn in is something long dead unless someone is doing something really dumb)
Also, there are 3 of us the in thread that, in fact, own OLED screens...
Well.. i own 3 LG OLED TVs and play games on them with HUDs for hours. and no burn-in.
also, lets use the right term. Burn-in doesn't really happen these days. The correct term should be using is image retention (IR). I had these issues on my plasmas before going OLED that it would hold an...
3 way SLI can normally handle most games in 4k (unless the game itself isn't full using SLI). I have a 3 way SLI Titan X on my HTPC (connected to a LG 65" 4k OLED).
Witcher 3, fallout 4, GTA V, etc all work great. (but to your point.. not much greater than 60-70fps .. (other than mgs v which...
oh shit man.. oh.. i must have.. but.. so much.. but logic won't work... i have a very bad feeling i'm getting this.
(it is almost the same price as the sharp pnk321 i got a few years back.. first 4k with 60hz)
so much for looking at the acer xb34 :)
oled is so nice. I got the LG 65" and 55"...
mr google found the reddit thread for me. sadly i think this was just some random person that bought it. No real talk to ULMB or gsync (other than it has it) - don't even know the specs of his system (like what is the point without SLI or crossfire).
I'm want it for 4k and gsync/ulmb.. but i...
looks like someone in Sweden got one.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/3zg5r9/acer_predator_xb321hk_32_ips_uhd_4k_gsync_v2/
it is odd that all the pre-orders for it are in Europe. Where is the 'merikan options? :)
it is a very perdy game.. best.. hrmm.. not sure.. but does "best" matter? The graphic suck me in and make the game more enjoyable.
Here is a random 30min video in 4k. It might be the best looking open world game. yeah, the shots above, ME or BI.. those are set pieces and limited. (which there...
This makes me sad. I have the ceton network cablecard reader (any PC in the house can watch live TV. But my main HTPC is also a gaming PC and i want my dx12. *sigh*
I don't really expect a replacement for WMC that can use a cablecard. My understand is the OS and software need to be certified...
I think he means that your input can only be reflected as fast as a frame is drawn. That is why even if you can't "see" - it can feel odd when your movements and drawn frames don't match up. So more fps the higher the chance that your input will be picked up right away.
4k gaming is perdy...
pain in the but that there is no news. clearly not end of the world, but you'd think they have a plan.. and that they would update consumers with said plan :)
