It's time to replace my old TV and I'm beginning to do some research in preparation for black friday.
I'm looking for a 4k TV that could be good for both movies and gaming.
For movies, it has to be able to play 24fps movies at the correct frame rate. I'm not 100% certain but does this mean I...
There are a lot of garbage USB keys out there.
There are also some that are like mini-ssds and priced accordingly, e.g. corsair gtx.
Anandtech has done some reviews, but they are so few and far between that the well-reviewed keys I want are not even available any more.
I'm looking for a USB I...
Basically the title.
I have a desktop rig in steel full tower case with an AMD 5850 in it. I am going to need to move this thing pretty frequently, so was thinking about downsizing the case and motherboard to mATX.
I'm looking for either empty enclosures or full units, of dual bay raid1 external storage. I need something that's reliable, but with a good value. It doesn't have to be fast or feature four different kinds of interfaces.
I thought you used to be able to search newegg for external enclosures...
I have a Norco RPC-4220 filled with 20 SATA drives that's been working fine for over a year, running Windows Server 2008. About a month ago, a drive just dropped from windows. Lights were still on the front of the case indicating a connection (I think). That one drive has been available...
$120.
Manufacturer's page.
Very good condition--barely used. Includes all original packaging. I will include the pictured case for an extra $10. Shipping costs according to whatever method you want. My heatware page.

I'm beginning to research getting something like an android-based PDA. So far, the Archos 43 seems really nice, the only downside being the resistive touch screen. Is there anyting comparable with a capacitive screen? Is there anything coming out soon that I should wait for?
I'll come right out and say that I looked at the Matrox Triple Head 2 Go, and that won't work. I have three 1920x1200 monitors, and the Matrox only supports 3x 1920x1080 at 50Hz. I need true 1920x1200 at 60Hz.
My current set up is a gaming desktop with an ATi 5850 to support my three...
I have been watching some deal sites for the last two weeks, and there have been some pretty awesome deals on laptops with the latest technology and prices better than anything in the last gen.
In particular two light gaming laptops:

Newegg has an upcoming shell shocker for an Apple iBook G4 for $220. I was wondering how it compared to an atom-based netbook. If the performance is about equal, then this could be a nice deal. I was thinking of getting a netbook, but I might get this instead.
edit: I think the biggest knock...
edit: offers responded. I'm not looking for any more, but if I do I will bump this thread.
I am looking for any socket 775 Intel processor in the 65nm generation. I need two, to pair with some OEM motherboards that never got support for the later-gen 775 processors.
Please let me know what...
I currently have 4 drives in software RAID 5, and I wanted to add two more: one for capacity, and either add a hot spare or convert the RAID to level 6.
I currently have four of these in here:
Hitachi Deskstar HD32000 IDK/7K H450-9000 SY.
Those drives aren't available everywhere...
Hey, sorry I have to ask this question here, but the documentation from AMD is kinda slim when it comes to anything that's not eyefinity.
I have a 5850 that I want to use to drive three displays for programming and productivity. I have two 1920x1200 monitors and one 1440x900 monitor. I was...
I saw a post on craigslist selling an old Sony E540 for $25. I have only been gaming on LCDs for the past seven years and I'm starting to get fed up with the input lag, response time, ghosting etc. Lately I've been watching Quake Live replays and I keep thinking to myself that the kind of rail...
I have an MSI x58 Pro purchased from Microcenter about a year ago. It's been running my i7 920 smoothly since then; I have it set to a modest 10% overclock with all stock voltages, kept nice and cool in my Antec 300 case. You can see from the pics that it's relatively dust-free considering it's...
I am looking to complete a machine I'm putting together from parts laying around, and I'm missing a CPU and RAM.
I'm looking for any socket 775 dual core, preferably not the lowest of the low end, and not the highest of the high end, either. My ideal find would probably be a E7x00 or a E5x00...
I have a software RAID-5 volume created in windows disk manager on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard edition. One of the drive's status says "errors," and it keeps throwing bad block errors to the event viewer. When trying to copy files from it, it will reach certain files and hang for...

According to the newegg email blast, this is going to be the afternoon shell shocker. What's a good price?

I got this for a server, it turned out that I didn't need it, and the RMA to newegg expired.
I'd like to get $260 for it, shipping included.
Heat is under panfist.
I currently have a Benq G2400W 24" 1920x1200 LCD. I would like to find a mate for it. I'm interested in buying another G2400W, but I would also be interested in other 24" monitors. The G2400W is pretty well-liked around here.
I would also consider trading the G2400W for a matching pair of...
A friend of mine recently purchased a Norco 4020 case without realizing that the backplane takes 5x SAS SFF-8087 connectors. I need to come up with some solution allowing him to tap into the backplane, but I'm pretty much 100% ignorant when it comes to server level storage hardware...
I'm looking for a hard drive controller with 4x or 6x SFF-8087 connectors (expands to 16x or 24x SATA connectors).
It can just be a host-bus adapter, or a fully-blown RAID controller.
My first instinct would be to guess that DVI switches would be cheaper, considering that digital cables are usually cheaper than a top-notch analog cable.
Also, DVI + USB KVM switches are exorbitantly priced! They seem to start at $100 and go up rapidly from there. It's actually cheaper to...
I've been looking for a headset for the last couple of days and I have been having a hard time finding reviews or any other objective information about the products that are available. I'm looking for one that's comfortable, has a decent range, a decent battery, and you can use it while it's...
SOLD
The card is an HIS IceQ 4+ OC 4870 1GB. I will post pics within 24 hours.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161265
The card default clock speeds are 770 MHz core, 1GHz memory (4GHz GDDR5).
It used to be able to overclock to the maximum ATI overdrive, which...
Paypal preferred. Ask if you want to pay another way.
I have a HIS IceQ 4+ 4870 1GB OC. Here's the newegg link. I left it at work; I will take pictures of it and post them tomorrow morning. Asking $120 plus shipping.

I found this guide for attempting to get unsupported to games to work one way or another.
If anyone can contribute more info I'll update it here as I see it.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.273732
This seems like a pretty decent deal to me. The combo discount is -$45, which is unusually high for newegg.
Side note: I was wondering if a 5870 would fit in this case if a hdd were installed adjacently, and, if so...
Whenever a new video card comes out, every other topic in the Deals forum usually is for some video card or another. There are usually posts to find the one vendor that has the hot new card for $3 less than the competition. There are usually TONS of posts of previous-gen card price-cuts...
Bow before my photoshop skills:
The picture says it all. It basically separates the airflow of the PSU from all of the other components. I think it would interfere less with some tower coolers. Also, you wouldn't be pulling in air that's already heated from the CPU in order to cool the...
Does anyone know if you buy one of these things, and get the wireless windows USB adapter, can you use any xbox360 wireless controller or does it have to be specifically the wireless windows version?
I am using windows 7 x64, and it really doesn't play nice with any of my old ps2 style wired...
OK this post got really long, so here's the tl;dr version: I'm not getting the connection speed they promised, and they're insisting it's my problem, when I'm 100% sure it's not.

So I just moved into a new home and signed up for Comcast a couple of weeks ago. Signing up was a pain...
My wife and I are going to try to do Zoey and Francis from L4D this Halloween. I have been shopping around for pieces of the costume, and I think the hardest one to find is going to be a reasonably priced vest for Francis.
Here are some things I've learned about Francis' vest since shopping...
I'm installing a network in my house. I bought a patch panel from Monoprice, but I think I'm leaning towards getting a double-gang twelve-slot keystone panel to do the same job, instead, because it can mount flush to the surface of the wall. I'd like to use a real patch panel because it's easier...
