I wonder, the original Antec 900 didn't have air filters, right? But now I'm hearing reports of a new 900. What are the differences between new and old?
Well, I don't game, and my dad doesn't want to move the DSL away from his PC. I just do simple web sufing and stuff.
Thank you all for your replies. :)
So my dad has a computer with a LOOK DSL ISP connection through a DSL modem connected to his LAN port on the motherboard. So let's say I find and purchase a Wireless card with Access Point technology and install it into his system, and set it to AP mode. (This card is the Asus WL-138G-v2) So...
So after a few months, I finally have some sort of budget to make an awesome PC that will last for at least 2 years.
Specs:
CPU=Core 2 Quad Q9300
MB=Asus P5Q-E
RAM=A-Data 2GB DDR2-800 1x
HDD=WD6400AAKS
HDD2=Old WD2500AAKS
Optical=Samsung SH-S203N
Videocard=Old Sapphire X1550 512MB...
That combo should work. This is one of the last Socket 478 boards, so it should support every 478 CPU. Your X800XL will work in the PCI-Ex16 slot, asuming it's x16. Just make sure the case supports Micro-ATX boards.
If the user wanted to expand the graphics, which I doubt anyone would with the market this board is targeted at. Why would Asus put a C220 on an MATX board anyway? :confused:
The P5Q Series consists of P5Q, P5Q Pro, P5QC, P5Q-E, P5Q Premium, P5Q Deluxe and P5Q3 Deluxe/WiFiAP@n. These boards are slated for release in June.

Well, I guess I can reuse my WD2500AAKS (Although its a bit too small), my LG IDE DVD Burner and the previously said X1550, but everything else is too old, too small.
Is this a good board?

I'm considering the P5K/EPU from Asus, which is $144.99 at Canada Computers, and maybe a cheap low-cost dualcore that I can overclock fairly well. I don't really need a videocard, as I can salvage my X1550 from my old computer. As for the Case, I liked the look of the Sonata III 500 from Antec...
Hello, i'm new here, please be gentle.
My birthday is on the 27th and I was thinking of building a new pc for myself. However, I need help deciding on a system that will last at least 2 years. I use Game Maker, play MAME, write, edit pictures etc. I need to buy the parts on Tigerdirect.ca or...
