It's hard to describe my work. But, I generally have 12 skype windows open and 19 firefox tabs open, among other random applications etc.
Light gaming would be starcraft/diablo 2, haha.
Yeah, i7/i5 probably is overkill....but if I build another c2d system, whats the point of selling my current...
Hey [H],
I will be selling my current Q6600 based rig to a friend at work and I'd like to upgrade to an either an i5, i7 920/860, however the different sockets are confusing the hell out of me...x58 or P55? I don't know!
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web...
Hey [H],
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and on an ASUS Laptop K50 series. It is now refusing to recognize any of my usb HD's or usb flash drives. I have no idea why, it worked a few days ago....not aware of any system changes.
Ideas? :-\
Just a small note, all 3 of the devices I have...
Sapphire won't fucking RMA my card as I have no purchase receipt.
Gonna drop 20 bucks on a shit card and test. If it works, anyone have any recommendations for a decent gpu that is similiar to the 4850x2 2Gb for around 150?
Would anyone else have any suggestions, aside from it being the video card? I am a bit weary of the mobo as it was a "reduced item" at Fry's and was only 119, compared to the usual 134 for the UD3P. Thinking it was a return, but....no idea. :\
Going to try and RMA the card with Saphire....
But, as far as the HD's go...I was able to see some form of windows boot error saying something got corrupted and it wanted my installation disc etc. :-\
Nah, no video output on the GAP45-UD3P.
So, here is my issue.....if the video card got fucked due to me frying the mobo with super glue....what else could be wrong now? Could my proc have been damaged? Hard drives corrupted? Sigh....this is terrible!
Yes, lesson learned indeed.
New Problem! I got a new motherboard tonight (same one). Hooked everything up, turns on, post beeps, all good. The Gigabyte BIOS flash screen is very grainy and wavy, after that stops I get flickering green/black bars everywhere and gibberish hexadecimal code.
I...
Nope, all of the lights on the board look totally normal. No beeps, no nothing. Just a continuous loop off on/off.
It's not making any sense anymore, and honestly...the only that has changed *is* the super glue + back plate combo. I'm tempted to try turning it on with no HSF/back plate...but...
Here is what I did.
1 Stick RAM > tried all 4 slots individually
Plugged in 24pin and 8pin psu connectors to mobo, disconnected all sata/random cables, no video card
Powers on, powers off....never ending loop of doom! I also tried outside of the case, so I don't believe there is a short in the...
Yeah, there is TIM all over it. Perhaps too much? Is AS5 conductive?
Don't think there is anything to reset via jumpers on the GAP45-UD3P, cmos battery generally handles it.
Let me go try bare minimums....
Yep, same stuff.
Turns on, fans spin, mobo lights up, video card lights up, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on, turns off, turns on! No error or post beeps at all.
I'm starting to think the motherboard is fucked. :-(
Well, I was able to remove the back plate....I was careful not to use too much super glue at all. I cleaned it up as best I could. However, my issue persists. It looks pretty much impossible to completely clean off all of the adhesive and crusty glue from the back plate and mobo.
Think it's...
Took everything out of the case and even tried a different PSU....same results.
Taking it out of the case = unscrewing everything, plugging in essentials only and holding the mobo in the air by the HSF!
Nothing in the case was touching it AT ALL, so it must be my ingenious super glue back plate
I did not unplug the fans before blasting, but I doubt that is it.
So, here is what I will do....remove everything from my case and try it outside of the case, if it still does not work...
1) How do I remove a super glued backplate without fucking my mobo?
2) How can I remove super glue?!
Why...
Hey guys,
I decided to clean my PC out today, blast the dust and remount the HSF. When I took my S1283 HSF off, the back plate on the mobo fell off, the adhesive was not sticky anymore....so I stupidly super glued it back on to my mobo. Hooked everything back up, and now...when I turn it on...
You have done a full stability test with everything at stock settings right?
I'd recommend reverting to stock and running memtest first, then use Linx to make sure everything is 100% stable at stock settings. Prime 95 doesn't push your hardware near as hard as Linx will.
NEVER overclock until...
Hey guys,
I primarily use my desktop for all of my general work. However, I recently purchased a laptop and I would like it to be as close as possible to my desktop configuration/programs installed wise.
I am currently using Win 7 x64 Ultimate on my Desktop. I have x2 250 GB hard drives...
Hey [H],
I got tired of my G15 keyboard and was ready to upgrade to the G19, however after seeing that the only major change was the LCD....not worth it.
I have opt'd to purchase the Das Keyboard Ultimate. However, I use my G15 macros very heavily for work related tasks such as quickly...
Win 7 Ultimate x64 here - Everything is fantastic!
However, I didn't pay attention and I let Windows update my LAN drivers and lost my internet connection as they didn't work.
So, after installing Windows 7....it does not seem to be caching my unused memory as Vista did. Anyone have any ideas as to how to make it cache it all?
EDIT: I'm not looking for this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc784562%28WS.10%29.aspx am I?
It's actually a lot easier then you'd think.
Since it was an unsecured network, he simply connected...guessed at the routers default admin password and went to town. Reset your router to factory and set up the wireless with encryption and change the default password.
Thanks a bunch! Got rid of them.
I didn't exactly got on a reg edit spree, I mucked around with some windows 7 tweaking programs...and yeah. :-)
I've set the thumbnail preview delay to 60000, so....it should stop bugging the hell out of me.
Now...to get to work on making the start menu not...
