Damn, some of ya have some serious anger issues about a game. If you don't like the game, vote with your wallet and move on. Anyways...
I picked up this game for $50 to see if it fills my "regrettable game purchase of 2014". Or rather, "can it be any worse than Battlefield 4 at launch til...
This thread inspired me to do some personal testing since I was thinking of turning on my HT for streaming purposes. I do want a new video card but currently I can survive with custom medium settings until Black Friday or my birthday in December.
In-Game settings: 1920x1080 fullscreen, High...
For what its worth, Digital Storm is a SF Bay Area company (yay local!) and heard they're not too bad. I had a friend that ordered a laptop from them last year. From what I heard, the few times he chatted with support they seemed friendly and helpful at the time.
Do you know someone nearby...
I didn't buy anything yet, still deciding on the 6GB Vengeance and save money towards the new system upgrade, or buy a 16GB kit (4x4GB) to replace my RAM and transition it to the Ivy Bridge build.
Thanks OP, I was gonna start a similar thread, in the case of a ASUS P6T.
I do ask tho: would it be advisable to add more RAM if its just the same company (ie Corsair but adding 6GB Vengeance on top of 6GB dominator)? I remember mixing RAM was fine as long as voltages and speeds matched, but...
I own a ASUS Radeon 585 DirectCU card and I love this thing: not only its quiet and I can't hear it, its OCed to the performance of a stock 5870. Having a ASUS GTX 660 Ti DirectCU II would definitely get me closer to 60FPS in Battlefield 3 and have a card ready for future games (Planetside 2...
I don't have the same CPU as you but I did just a mini-upgrade from my 4.5 year old system to my current system in signature. I was running a Q6600 at stock, 4GB RAM, and my 5850. For Battlefield 3 iirc, I did mostly medium settings, shadows at low, motion blur/AO/AA/something else at off...
Sorry if this is a repost but for Imperial Agents and Smugglers that use cover heavily:
There are key binds where you can go into cover without the ability in your bars - by default it is F for cover on open area or "gears of war style" rolling into cover, Shift-F to force a mobile cover shield...
Adding my experiences with my system (see sig) and Battlefield 3:
I'm pretty shocked being able to run this at all at 1920x1080p. With some tweaking, messing with drivers, reading around forums I frequent, I am able to pull between 45-55 fps during firefights on 64 player Grand Bazaar and...
And sold out within 5 minutes. A buddy of mine plus myself barely got in. If you did get a registration page to fill out, check your "My account" - I got a surprised after being frustrated.
Next Geforce LAN needs to be at a bigger place, a lot of my friends couldn't get in :(
Edit: I heard...
I live 20 minutes away + a bridge, ITS ON!
I've been to all but one nVidia Geforce LAN and they are awesome to go to. With the second one iirc, they did give every attendee a retail box copy of Battlefield 2; with Geforce 4 they gave out Crysis. I wonder if they will give out Battlefield 3 :D
I'll buy a boxed copy if I must, but I think EA is making a major mistake not putting this on Steam. Sure they want to pimp out Origin...but at what cost? I still think EA will put the game on there very late, if their recent game Alice is worth an indicator.
I still got my Q6600; I was gonna upgrade in January when Sandy Bridge was coming out but then that chipset fiasco happened. I'm waiting til the BF3 demo to see if it destroys my CPU, if Bad Company 2 wasn't a big enough indicator.
I knew about this but thanks for the reminder to go pick one up tomorrow. Nice to know a few I can drive to, but its too bad the San Mateo one isn't open it (2 minute drive vs 20 minutes).
I can only comment on the B&M side but I find their customer service really nice.
I think I'm better served by reading the entire thread, but how is Rift several weeks after launch? I got some friends asking me to join them and despite enjoying the beta, the bad taste of Aion and Warhammer is still in my mouth and with that my sense of hesitation. I was going to wait for...
A dead EA is a bad thing, despite what they do; I rather see Activision go down first. With EA out of the picture, it would cause a hell of a shock to the video game market and other worse companies would pick up the pieces and make it even worse. Unless Valve steps in...
I'll hate to see my...
Well, this ran surprisingly well, but since it was in DX9 mode I'm not surprised. But seeing auto-aim on my default just seems disgraceful and a slap to the PC FPS crowd. Elitist I know and I can turn it off, but did we really need this?
I'll only get this if the Mechwarrior mod transitions...
I just saw the trailer and its time to put some cash aside for this. I'm going to wait til the first demo or beta to see how much it'll murder my system.
I'll wait for a actual in-game screenshot that doesn't look blurred out (non Magazine scan that is) before I say anything about the graphics, though that shot with a AT4 and dust looks very convincing. I'm curious to see how far they push destruction.
Either way, looks like a overhaul is in...
