The price of DDR3 has dropped, it's still not at DDR2, but it's pretty reasonable now. Thing is why buy twice? You'll be spending $100 or maybe more on DDR2 then will have to eventually upgrade to DDR3 which will probably be slightly more than $100 by then. Might as well buy the $200 DDR3 now...

Asus P5Q seem to have a bit of a DOA issue, but other than that it seems like a great board. With that price range why not go DDR3 & quad core though and build a more future proof system?
