    New HTPC/AV Set-up: A Few Questions

The wall isn't flat and I need something that will "follow" me as I swivel the set. I have a studio apartment that is longer than it is wide and I want to be able to swivel from couch to lounge chair to bed.

    New HTPC/AV Set-up: A Few Questions

That does help: thanks. Checking emotiva. The computer driving the set-up will be a Core2Quad q6600 @3.6Ghz, 8GB ram, 8800GTX, X-Fi prelude transport (may upgrade) and 4 WD6600AAKS HDs (may go SSD for system too) in RAID10 (140MB/s read & 110MB/s write) - fast. I'm watercooling both the...

    New HTPC/AV Set-up: A Few Questions

Thanks for the input: I appreciate it. You don't think I should go for a larger TV? I've seen a 52" from 12' away, granted I'm only 8' max, and I know that I wouldn't want to use it as a computer monitor... On the topic of Bose: you seem to actually be pissed -- because, quite literally...

    New HTPC/AV Set-up: A Few Questions

I'm looking to upgrade the set-up in my studio apartment (read: small) and I'm considering "ditching" my desk/monitor/tower for a laptop and a combination of the following: Monitor/Television ($2,500-$X,000): 52" Sharp/55"Sony XBR8/65" Sharp/XX" Samsung ToC LCD or Pioneer's 60" Plasma...

FS Amazon Kindle - $200 Shipped

FS Amazon Kindle - $200 Shipped

Amazon Kindle with all accessories and one, cosmetic scratch on one of the corners. The Kindle is about 1 year old and one of the buttons has a hairline crack but it doesn't effect the functionality in any way. In fact, you can barely see it when it's in the included leather case. :cool...

    How can I improve this set-up? Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz on air

Going H20 with my i7 build in March. Wish List Case: TJ07 (to slam two 120.3s or 1 120.3 and 1 120.2 in the bottom) Motherboard: Asus WS Evolution (love to get back to ASUS - not an ATI fan) CPU: Fastest i7 for the $ OC'd when I purchase so I hope there is a second round of desktop...

    How can I improve this set-up? Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz on air

My RAM is only rated for 400Mhz so to save myself the brain damage, I haven't tried it. I have OCZ platinum DDR2-800 and they seem to be picky about timings If you want to experiment and you have suggested v[everything] settings for P7N Diamond: I'll try anything once in the name of science..

    How can I improve this set-up? Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz on air

    How can I improve this set-up? Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz on air

I have some of the equipment for watercooling that's on the sideline: 2x 120x3 rads, 2x liang D5s, tubing, 3x micro res., etc... I just sold one of my 8800GTXs this week ($70 to someone on [H]) and my 2x EK Full Cover 8800GTX blocks because I'm going to build an i7 box with a 285 SSC (to start...

    How can I improve this set-up? Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz on air

I've thought about that; I don't really see any "contradictory" fans though. I think that the 120mm I pointed out that's blowing right on the CPU fan is probably redundant or degrading the performance of the 80MM CPU HSFan. I'm either going to make the 120mm exhaust and point it at the NB...

    How can I improve this set-up? Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz on air

I just added some more fans and a fan controller to bump up my Q6600 from 3Ghz to 3.6Ghz  I'm thinking about moving the 120mm fan in the middle - the one right next to the CPU - up on top of the CPU HSF so it blows on the NB and exhausts at the same time - smart? Note: the fan...
