I have the Accelero installed inside a CM microATX case.
Here is a thread I made about the installation process:

Temps are at the bottom of that post.
Did you put any kind of heatsink on them?
If you did, the fan is not necessary (as you can see from my temps).
This is all on a micro ATX board inside a micro ATX case btw. Cooling is above average for my case, but if you have anything larger your temps should not be worse.
I installed an Accelero on my 4850 because I wanted complete silence for the card. Below are a few pics through the installation process that will hopefully answer some questions about attaching an accelero.
The VRM and some other chips on the left were covered with a total of 6 Zalman...
I think that since the die size is larger for the latest Nvidia cards, the mounting is going to be different than previous cards. My bet is that the accelero won't fit this one.
If you want to go with the silent approach, I would stick with getting a 4870.
Went from an 8600gts to a 4850. I just ran 3dmark 06 with the 8600gts earlier today and everything went fine.
After switching in the 4850, 3dmark now gets stuck at the initial "analyzing your system" screen forever with no signs of progress. Anyone have this problem?
It looks like 3dmark...
I just checked SVC and even though it says it's in stock, when you add it into your cart it's no longer available.
anyone know where I could find an S1 for a good price?
Seems like a nice deal for a keyboard originally retailing for over $100.

Newegg has it for $94.99 + S&H so this looked like a good deal to me.
Valve just did some updates to DoD by adding a new map, achievements, and some other little things.
Seems like a good deal for $4.99.

I'm talking about this aftermarket cooler:

I read a few threads about how people were quite successful in taggin on an Accelero S1 rev.2 to their new 4850s.
From what I've seen (there are spec diagrams on the arctic cooling...
Sounds like awesome news!
I really hope one of the distributors will slap on an accelero or something else right off the bat so I wouldn't have to fiddle around with it. :D
Not that it's important since the 4850 is so much better, but where can you find a 9800GTX for $199? Are you just saying this because Nvidia had announced it?
Long story short, I'm a big fan of passively cooled cards. And I like it when they come that way =D.
It seems that a lot of times these days the reference designs on video cards (along with the reference cooling) just don't hold up too well. The cards get hot anyways, and usually the fan...
Too all those that ordered:
Any chance you guys can give some feedback on the card?
I'm waiting on things to settle a bit since I have a hunch that prices may go down a bit more.
Wonder if there will be any cards around this level of performance that can run with passive cooling!
EDIT:
Should add that S&H is $7.95, but it's a fixed rate no matter how many you get. So this deal gets better if you get more.
This would be my first Hot Deals post in the [H]. Hope it's not a repost
The link is here...
Yep, with my experiences too, TN panels generally all have backlight bleed.
If Best Buy would ever put all their display screens on a black background and show them in a darkened room...you would notice. And that's why they don't.
It's very arguable whether today's Integrated Graphics Processors are better than a 9600XT from back in the day. It would probably be a good idea to be safe and go for a cheap one for around $50 like the following:
Radeon HD 2600 Pro...
A real "software" solution probably isn't really a possibility if you want to correct TN's viewing angle. It's the way the monitor just works.
There might be special clear coatings you could put in front of the monitor to increase the viewing angle though, although this will probably have...
Exactly how do they optimize these games over the net??
Anyone that has a wii knows that smash bros. has a big lag problem in online play. Nintendo might even have something to learn here.
