The xp install cd wont even get to the menu screen to select repair or install. I tried it with a SATA drive and an IDE drive. The install cd I have is an original XP home edition without any service packs. Would it be worth trying a vista install?

I have a strange problem. When the computer is off the fans blink on and off. I noticed it at night because one of the fans is has LED's. The computer works fine when turned on. If I unplug the power cord it takes a few seconds for the blinking to stop. Power supply? MB? Thanks
