Isn't that actually pretty good?
I mean, consider that development took what is likely 3 years and they've already turned a profit against the sunk cost of tech and marketing.
The Nano isn't even a super niche product. It's a product for a market that does not exist. If they reduced the price $200 you MIGHT have something that makes sense but as currently priced, it's the biggest boondoggle I have seen in quite some time. An OCd mini 970 runs neck and neck at 1080p...
Damn, I ran by the other day and almost bit the bullet at that Microcenter. Glad I didn't. I really want to buy one of these but it's just appalling how bad the lottery is.
No way this doesn't settle out. NVIDIA screwed up as the screenshots posted in here show. While it's only the attorneys who are going to get rich at least NVIDIA's feet will be held to the fire.
I haven't purchased a physical copy since Mafia 2 and that was an impulse buy. I've been buying digital for a long time now from all the differing services. It's just more convenient.
I'd be curious to know what games on console you would rate as better than this.
I can understand a PC editions getting higher marks because on average they look much better.
Hilarious backtrack but this is now a Day 1 purchase for me.
I could care less about Sony's launch lineup. Driveclub is running @ lol 30fps, Knack looked like crap on Fallon's show, and KZ is a mediocre shooter whose only purpose is to be a tech demo for Sony's new releases.
If MS can nail the...
There was nothing ambiguous about how I felt when I saw what they were about to do. I thought the ending was glorious.
I'd probably rate this a 9.5/10. The best story told on console this generation with Uncharted 2 right behind it.
I do really hope they're working on a new engine...
One more complaint and this one is a big one for me. The companion AI at particular stages in the game absolutely sucks.
I'm talking like AI companions straight up running INTO zombies without triggering combat while you're sneaking around. Hilariously immersion breaking and something they...
The intro to the game is arguably one of the most powerful experiences on consoles I've ever seen.
The rest of the game is excellent but suffers from the typical zombie game issues. For example, you'd think zombies would drag you down and tear your shit up but as it is you can be in a room...
I haven't quite finished it yet but it looks like our opinions are fairly similar.
I do think the game looks a little dated graphically, at least looking at non-player textures (like ships, cars, some signage, etc)
That said, this game was a pleasant surprise and I look forward to seeing...
Sour grapes? Consoles are going to be an entire step and a half behind GPU wise by the middle of next year with Maxwell from NIVIDIA and Sea Islands.
As always, all multiplats will look better on the PC
I'd be inclined to agree with you at this point, just explaining how the DRM could lead to a consolized Steam environment.
MS just got their sack handed to them.
Because Microsoft can account for every copy of any game sold on its new system while Sony can only account for total units sold.
That PS4 copy of Killzone may change hands 4 times at no cost while the Titanfall copy will change hands and require a purchase everytime it does switch owners. If...
The level design is quite spacious for some parts, however it's very limited in what you can and can't do. IE it's pretty damned linear.
I think of this as a more fleshed out Mirror's Edge. Personally, I have 0 problems with this game but if they manage to combine this type of engine and...
Bought because I figured, hell, there's not enough new IPs out there and might as well give a new developer some cash.
Enjoying it quite a bit so far. Game looks great for being UE3 but you can see the dating on it. Picture this as a mixture of Deus Ex and Mirror's Edge + Arkham combat...
It's hilarious that all the console gamers are spooshing over footage from KZ4 and the new CoD when a game like The Witcher 2 @ max is already as good looking if not BETTER than both of those and was released 2 years ago.
Or Tomb Raider. Or Metro. Or... well, you get the point.
If the XOne exclusives are not good I can see SteamBox totally destroying them by incorporating new GPU architectures next year into a box.
It's sad that both of these consoles will likely only be on par for 2-3 years max.
I'll honestly buy this just for the TV stuff. A silent bluray player with voice recognition?
Cable boxes are so far behind the curve with regards to this that it isn't even funny. If they have a good slate of games at E3 it will be icing on the cake. The only use for my PS3 today is BluRay and...
Vega, looking at your comparison post between the Catleap and the Asus, what was the end difference with your film removed?
Was the difference still incredibly noticeable or was the trade off worth it?
I blame console gamers.
I'm 99% sure that they E3 demo was impossible to run on the current hardware and they had to dumb it down considerably and leave it more as a tech demo going forward.
Which absolutely sucks because with a little more graphical polish and the use of some of those...
Are you going to include Tomb Raider in the tests?
I'd love to see what numbers you'd get with TressFX and everything else turned on. Game would look incredible on that kind of real estate as well
Just finished. Took about 15 hours on hard and I did a whole lot of exploring. The setting is fantastically developed but I also agree that the story kind of started high and petered out.
I'd put this one as a little better than Uncharted, a little under Uncharted 2, and way better than Uncharted 3.
Graphically I'd say TR blows them all out of the water. Uncharted does probably have a better narrative focus but seeing as TR is an origins story it's hard to fault them too much...
Just finished today. 100% complete, DAMN the game is good.
Ran it with the patch today with TressFX, Tesselation, FXAA, and 8x Aniso. Absolutely insane.
This is probably the best looking game on the market, with the qualifier that I don't have Crysis 3 and don't really intend to get it...
