Reason why I asked you to test the performance on 5GHz band is because I encountered something similar previously.
Basically, I have 2 rigs in another room connected via a Gigabit switch to a D-Link DAP-2553 Wireless Bridge which is connected wirelessly to my Asus RT-N56U dual band router...
Try connecting to the 5GHz Band (if your router supports that). If it works well then the poor performance could be due to interference on the 2.4GHz Band.
Yes if you want to have voltage adjustment but with power consumption of a Core i3-2xxx (excluding monitor) hovering as low as 20W (with PicoPSU) why bother ?
For a few bucks more the ASRock one is a better choice. I have 2 of that and they work great ... even with Mac OS X (check out my entry on TonyMacX86's wiki) :D
Was considering that too but it doesn't have that new graphical BIOS as far as I know.
After experiencing it on my Asus Sabertooth P67, I'd like all of my future boards to have that graphical BIOS too.
Seems like only Asus and ASRock have it. I'm sure Gigabyte doesn't. Not sure about...
I don't wish to continue with this pointless discussion. All I'm implying is that his case is most likely a closed-up, el-cheap case w/o window because he doesn't seem to appreciate that there are people who take pride in their component choices, even if it entails color matching.
That...
Are you his clone ? I'm referring specifically to his case only since he obviously can't appreciate the fact that there are others who go to extremes to color match their components.
I can understand where you're coming from especially if you have an all closed-up el-cheapo case without windows but there are others who may have gorgeous looking cases with see-through windows and it would make sense to maintain the color theme within.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm pretty...
I won't trust Amazon on that. They're getting into the habit of listing products without actually having any inventory in their warehouse.
Part of their strategy to accumulate orders before placing an order with the distributor to minimize cash-flow tie-down I guess ...
@ Surfy73, you're not alone. I got myself an i7-2600 (without the K) as I've no intention of overclocking because it's used on my primary non-gaming (aka mission critical) rig. :p
Yes, the non-Deluxe is the one I'm waiting for as I've no use for BT and WiFi.
Hate SO-DIMM too. Limited choices available and most are in butt-ugly green PCB w/o heatspreaders.
It could be too late.
Flashed my Gigabyte 6950 to 6970 and it was fine for a week then tons of artifacts appeared in games (even then the card is still rock stable and there's no BSOD).
Flashed back to 6950 didn't help. Switching to backup BIOS didn't help either.
Guess the memory chips were...
Waiting for Asus P67 Gene board to replace my M3G.
Hopefully won't have to wait too long otherwise I'll be stuck with with my P55 +i7-860.
Need Black + Red to match rig's color theme. :p
A pair of Gigabyte 6850s here :
Getting ~160 fps max. on SC2 @ 1920x1200 max settings compared to ~120 fps max. with a single 6850. Driver used : Catalyst 10.12A Hotfix
No, IGP doesn't work with OS X and I doubt that would ever change.
A cheap, $20+ gfx card like the 8400GS can easily solve that, or if you're setting up a gaming rig, the 5770-5870 or Fermi would be excellent choices.
Actually the H55N makes a great dual-booting Win 7 + OS X machine :

Not sure when SB will be able to do that :p
The Asus P8P67-I includes two SO-DIMM slots, one PCI-Express x16 slot, two SATA 6.0 Gbps and two 3.0 Gbps ports, two USB 3.0 connectors, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs. All this and more should be coming our way in December/January.

Received my WiNDy MC3 FX Mediterranean yesteday after watiing for over 2 months (it was worth it in the end) :
Came with 1 big load of accessories
Fully assembled. My personal hobby site will be updated with all the pics within the next couple of days ...
I had the same problem previously and have tried all sorts of HDD silencers but this is the best (& it's really cheap) :

Wait till you see the 'Mirage' ones in person. They're unlike any other case in existence. (I know because my 'Silver Fox' is a 'Mirage') :D
The exterior is basically a mirror.
They're releasing a limited number of World Cup 2010 limited editions right now ...
Some really attractive deals to share with you guys :

WiNDy case for about US$100 (excl. shipping) ! :D
Had the same AHCI problem with my 2nd identical board that I purchasedt from Amazon (first one was from NewEgg).
Looks like it's a design problem.
Anyway, it's working fine with Enhanced IDE and TRIM is working so I'd just leave it as it is since this is one of those rigs that I rarely use...
They used to offer side-window panels as an option but it was just for 1 small production run :
... and they're really expensive. I paid like US$700 for 5 panels including shipping (for 5 different cases of course).
They've yet to clear the massive backlog from domestic orders so I doubt they'll be ready to accept international orders anytime soon.
My last order for an MC3 FX Mediterranean placed in April that was supposed to be shipped in May isn't even ready yet.
120W PicoPSU and Thermalright HR-01 4U ... the last 2 components finally arrived today so here's the completed rig / test bench :
