EVGA 970 superclock - $143 Price match only

I used to live there. Went to that MicroCenter all the time (and several of the Fry's around there, too). Now, I'm in a state where the nearest MicroCenter is on the other side of the state completely (about 7 hours away). So, yeah. That sucks.

HOT logitech G930 wireless headset $79.99

You really should stop making assumptions about me. It only makes you appear more of a fool.

HOT logitech G930 wireless headset $79.99

I hardly think doing everything I could for more than a year before giving up is "low levels of effort". As for know-it-all, well, the shoe fits, so I'll happily wear it. Like it or not, there are in fact people in the world more talented, more experienced, and more knowledgeable than you in a...

You obviously have never visited Logitech's forums. Or HQ. I've done both, and they prove you're wrong.

HOT logitech G930 wireless headset $79.99

I live in rural farm country, on the edge of a national park. I have one neighbor, several acres away. I also have an EMF meter, and am perfectly capable of doing a site survey. And I have. When I say there's no interference, I mean it. I realize that we live in a society so dumbed-down...

HOT logitech G930 wireless headset $79.99

No. I live in a house. In a town of 4,000 people, mostly old and almost entirely nontechnical. One WAP. And I'm more than capable of doing things like moving the WAP to other channels to avoid interference. And I tried all 11 channels. But thanks for assuming I didn't try all of this...

Three. I had constant dropouts with mine as well. Gave them to my wife to use with Skype. I use the G35's instead, and MUCH prefer them.

Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm for up to 25" LCD Displays $99

I've got three of them. They just have a clamp that secures it to the desk, and I've got them on two IKEA desks, so yes, they'll work with them. I love them, and this is a great price (I paid about $130 each for mine).

    K70 available for Pre-Order

Oh, I know. I've got an MX Red and MX Brown keyboard now myself. Though I have to say the Blues and Greens approach Buckling Spring in terms of activation pressure, at least based on my entirely subjective experience, and I know they're popular with some gamers. It's true that the...

    K70 available for Pre-Order

It's funny..years and years ago I'd play UT with an old IBM buckling spring keyboard, and the "serious", "hardcore" gamers mocked me for it. Now, mechanical keyboards are all the rage. Go figure.

    GTX 780 vs 680 SLI

I recently (this week) went from a single Sparkle Calibre GTX680 to two of them in SLI. I made the decision after considering the costs and benefits of going to a 780 instead (including monetary costs, the lifetime of my current configuration, and the costs of truly taking advantage of a 780...

PCIE 3.0 vs 2.0 GTX Titan

Actually, that's not what it shows. If you read the entire article, pretty much every case of gains (and they were very small) was attributed to the improved Ivy Bridge IPC, not to PCI 3.0. And even with the improved IPC and PCI 3.0, the actual improvements -- and this is explicitly stated...

ASUS Introduces a New Gold Color Theme for Z87 Motherboards

The best pictures I've been able to find of the Sabertooth Z87 show the highlights to be a cream or almost silver rather than a gold. And the brown goes well with that and the matte black. http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/ASUS-Z87-Sabertooth.jpg

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Yeah. Next time there's a slight rebate on one make and model of a 1TB drive, let's all post: "OMG! 1TB drives on clearance everywhere!!!" I mean, since it doesn't matter at all, right?
  19. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Why are the three of you so hell-bent against proper posting procedure, which would have been to simply post a thread with a title stating that that one particular MSI model was on sale at a couple of vendors, with appropriate links?
  20. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Post title: GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less First sentence: "One example" Further in post: Newegg is running some at steeply reduced pricing as well. That indicates that more than that single MSI model were being sold at clearance...

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Just trying to understand how you think all 680s are being sold at clearance prices when the evidence to the contrary is overwhelming. And trying to maintain some semblance of sane and accurate post titling on [H]ot|DEALS. You got all hot and frothy over a sale on a single product -- the...

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Those are prices after rebate, not that one vendor slashing prices on cards to clear stock.
  23. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

And how does that translate to all "GTX 680s being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400"? You linked to a single card from a single manufacturer from two vendors, and stated a third vendor had multiple cards at steep discount, while implying in your post and your title...
  24. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

I looked yesterday too. There were no massive price drops on any cards other than the single model from a single manufacturer you linked to in the original post. Perhaps you're just naive and you're confusing an actual sale price with the normal discount off MSRP that these cards have been...
  25. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Yes. The top link in the OP. A link to something where I have to "look at More Buying Choices" on a page that lists the card the OP is talking about at $483 is, at best, asinine. And it's also irrelevant, since the issue here is that the OP claimed that 680s (plural, not one card model...

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

I have looked at the prices of GTX680s. Today. On Amazon and Newegg. They are not being clearanced. There are no huge price drops on 680s on either site. ONE model of ONE manufacturer's card does NOT equate to all 680s being cleared out by the major online vendors.
  27. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

That's not the top link then, is it? I swear, some of you would fight to the death just to save a little face.
  28. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

The top link is an in stock card at amazon for $483. I want the op to post with titles and content that reflect the actual reality. A one day sale on one card does not mean all 680s are being clearanced.
  29. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

"680s are being clearanced" is very much NOT equivalent to "hey, there's a one day sale on this one model from one manufacturer. " And even if it were, you don't go on to say that's its just "one example" and that a vendor has more than one make/model steeply reduced pricing. I'm sorry...
  30. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Title of post states that 680s are being clearanced. First sentence of post gives "one example". Goes on to state "Newegg is running some at steeply reduced pricing as well." Some. Not one.
  31. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

The OP indicated that this was a deep discounting of all 680s across the board due to the upcoming release of the 700 series cards. Not a one day sale on one 680 model from one manufacturer.
  32. S

GTX 680's being clearanced at newegg, amazon, tigerdirect, etc. for $400/less

Amazon shows the card in your link at $483 for me. And both amazon and newegg show typical pricing on all 680s. No deep discounts.

PCIE 3.0 vs 2.0 GTX Titan

Well, if you're going to do it, you should at least do it based on results from multiple runs of the same set of tests, averaged, so you know what the variance is and how reliable the results from a single pass of tests is. When the results are as extreme as the deltas in his quad-SLI test...

What do you think of the Asus compared to the BenQ for FPS gaming? (assuming you play any).
  36. S

PCIE 3.0 vs 2.0 GTX Titan

Without knowing what your inter-test variance is and controlling for it, this isn't really a useful comparison. Those differences may not be reliable (i.e., they may be noise).

There's an economic factor you're ignoring in all of that: RISK. Case in point, the $10,000-$20,000 I mentioned was an unexpected emergency expense. Name one thing your credit score is used for unrelated to debt. Here, I'll give you one: Rental application. However, this can be easily...
