I have had problems with those grills as well. If you shop at performance pcs then you might find yourself some better grills, especially name brands that actually fit and look really nice.

Use to use CNPS 9700 LED and kept my Q6600 (3GHz) @ 33 idle, 50 load. I had a horrible VID of 1.325 though

You can not have that thing mounted horizantaly unless your crazy. That will tear your mobo apart unless you support that thing.

My 9700 ran my Q6600 pretty cool unlapped. I think it could handle the i7's but will be limited to how far you overclock it.

I added a 120mm fan for cooling plus there is the one pulling right behind them on the back. There is good air flow through the case and the volts they run at are quite low. Should not be a problem?

I used 5-5-5-18 timings when I was OC'ing. I gave plenty of voltage to everything. I have ran at 3.2 before just not stable. And my ram can only run at a max of 800, but I run it at 667 for a 1:1 ratio.

Your within range on the stock cooler. i7's just run hot, its how there made.

What SB/NB coolers do you have on your mobo? I have the exact same mobo and have been looking for something to add to my WC system for it. Where did you get those other coolers too that are normally attached to the heatpipe?

Dude, for 3Ghz thats insane temps at stock voltage. Try remounting, something is wrong there, its just not sitting right.

Just wanted to add: I had a leak on one of the upgraded compression fittings on the rad. The o-rings given with bitspower really are to small in thinkness for a good seal. I took fatter ones of the supplied barbs and they worked perfect. I will change the other later on. Other then that...
