About what I expected.
I have a 5800x, more than enough cpu for me right now. Probably wait it out for Zen 5 before upgrading again or what ever intel has then. Probably not even then will we be cpu bottlenecked for 4k gaming.
Just got my new setup up and going. Gonna have to play with the fan control, but its full tilt atm. Really kind of sad I cannot seem to find a new gpu. I sold my 2080ti, figured I'd get a 3080, or the RX 6800xt. Now I'm rocking my old Vega 64 JOY. At least I have a somewhat decent card to game...
Water block is for the rx480/580 series. The Vega has the attached red devil cooler. I would have water cooled it but all the blocks for the Red Devil disappeared.
Few things for sale

R7-1700 8 core ryzen chip. 100$ with free shipping anywhere in the U.S. Comes with no cooler, CPU only.
Possible forsale Rx Power Color Red Devil Vega 64 make offer. I'd like to get at least 230$ from it OBO with free shipping anywhere in the U.S...
I use my air compressor. 50-60psi into the blow gun, and away the dust goes. I make sure to grab hold of the fans as you can overspin them if you don't.
A relatively cheap dryer can be used to keep moisture to a min. Never had a problem with moisture with various different compressors and...
I don't have the 3900x but I just got my 3800x today. Dropped in my crosshair Hero VI. I'm chugging along at 4.3ghz @ 1.35volts. Temps are only hitting 80c under load. I also have a full custom water loop. bios version 7106
much higher than my old r7-1700. Only had a few hours of testing with...
went ahead and purchased the R7-3800x. Not sure If I will be upgrading my motherboard quite yet, Gonna wait for reviews on them.
Might buy a 5700xt as well after seeing the reviews. If its more than 15% faster than my Vega 64.
Radeon 7 is a much better mining card than The 2080ti. Who ever says it is not is a silly wombat. 2080ti cannot touch that memory bandwidth.
over 90mh/s in eth. Puts it leagues above anything else. I wonder how the Navi cards will do. I'd expect close to vega 64 numbers, maybe a tad higher.
well profit is profit. AS long as it is profitable to do so I will continue to do so. plus with the recent hikes in the BTC price profitability has gone way up. Yes It's paltry but these cards have already paid for themselves long ago.
I'm making around 15$ a day now with 12 rx 580's and 1 rx...
I would like to point out that the Ryzen 3xxx series cpus come in two different configurations.
The 8c/16 thread and lower parts will only have a single chiplet on the package. While the higher end parts the 12c and 16c will feature 2 chiplets. This tells us that these chips are being...
for what is is worth. I'm making around 13$ a day on nicehash. I never sold my cards from the second mining burst.
I have 12 rx 580's, and a Vega 64.
as long as the BTC price is above 7k, they will turn a profit. Power cost is 10 cents per KWH. You won't see many people invest into buying...
While there are faster cpus out there I still have a FX 8320 in service.
Exact use I use mine for. Granted it's actually RX 580's in crossfire. Performance is more than acceptable at 1080p. I wouldn't buy the parts nowadays, but if you already have them laying around or can get really cheap...
While many will say bulldozer was bad, I was quite happy with my [email protected]. I used to stream dota 2 on twitch, while gaming and it did this task amazingly well. I did cpu encoding, so quality was GREAT! Something I couldn't do on a Intel 2500k@ 4.8 ghz. Was also kinda nice hosting a game...
while a single application may not use that many cores in most cases, you still have the ability to run more than one. I have a Threadripper 2950x and I can max it out quite easy.
I hate when people say x program cannot use all of the cores, because if that is the case you are doing it wrong....
I wish AMD didn't rush this card to the shelves.
Drivers are still immature for a gaming card on release. I mean you can't even overclock it yet! I like they released it though, minus the fact they also didn't have very much stock on launch. I mean I tried to buy one and couldn't on day one...
Everything I've been told states Navi will NOT be GCN based. Why would they produce a new budget line/mid range cards based on GCN, and then in 2020 release a new uarch for the big verison? Don't make sense. Expect the budget/mid range cards first, then as yields improve, the larger ones later...
Navi was never planed for mid year. Was always going to be a q3/q4 product stack.
Zen 2 will be mid year, and Navi will be announced but not launched . Much how they launched the Radeon 7, and announced Zen 2.
Let's hope they give us some good drivers for Radeon 7 first, and well fixing the...
The Radeon VII is a great card. But make no mistake its a rebranded mi50 card. AMD don't want to sell a bunch of these cards for 700$. While AMD state they will have enough to meet the demand of the gamers. It's really kinda of a gift from AMD to those in the know. It's hard to say what kind of...
Amd Doesn't really have a flagship mobile processor. Their Apu lineup is based on Raven Ridge which is just a excavator core. We saw the 2700u, and the 2500u which were released based on the Ryzen core, abiet first gen core, and Vega 10 graphics. These are pretty decent chips, but AMD truely...
Don't see why people are complaining. Vega 7 is a pretty good card, you will see the reviews shortly.
Pretty sure its overstock of the MI60. Basically a stop gap card till Navi comes out. The Big Navi they have promised us in 2020, will be going into production soon.
Problem with Vega was...
Hmmm. Being a x370 user. I doubt I will upgrade the motherboard unless it really allows me to expand my options.
Granted I am just assuming I will be able to drop in a Ryzen 3xxx series cpu and go. I saw no reason to upgrade to the 2700x when it came out over my overclocked 1700. I hope the...
63% gross profit, is unreal. That is higher than most retail stores.
I mean 1080ti-750$ new at launch , 2080ti- 1200$...... for what 30% more performance? Ripping ya off hard....
icing on the cake here is the cards are failing....
now that Vega has a decent price point again. It offers a pretty good value for the performance you get. The 3 free games they offer with the new cards is a pretty nice bonus as well.
The 2080 will be a tad faster, but certainly not worth the extra $$ in my eyes. Honestly the RX-480 isn't a...
Lump me into those who picked up a steam link lol. Hey for $2.50 cannot really go wrong there. Thinking about picking up Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Outside of those 2, I don't see much of anything I like on sale enough to purchase.
sometime in 2019. Amd is likely binning the highest end parts for eypc cpu's. Once supply can meet demand in those markets, will we see the desktop am4 refresh. I'd guess March-June.
See I told you so, leaks from 2 years ago about 1700mhz polaris ;-) haha.
Kinda sad you guys didn't put a reference 480 in there just to see the kinda improvement AMD has done to Polaris over all. Nice review as always.
its really only 20 lanes, since 4 are for to the m2 slot a nvme ssd. Intel's mainstream socket isn't any better in that regard though. If you want more lanes then HEDT market is for you. Unless you have a more than a single high end gpu its not going to matter much for most folks.
I mean they doubled the floating point effectively. to what was an already impressive fpu performance. What we will see in actual benchmarks is yet to be seen, but I expect some really solid numbers from zen 2.
I will likely swap out my R7-1700 for one of the new Zen 2 chips when they are...
then you don't understand what electromigration is. You are just confused because most retail parts don't have these issues as they have been tested, and revised to avoid such issues. Electromigration can happen at any point of a products lifespan. If the die is flawed from the start you can see...
ya its very possible if the traces are not of the proper size in some parts. Failures like this are very common on early die revisions. I wonder what the stepping number they are on. A,B,C? most A dies have issues like this, and they are fixed with a major b stepping.
I don't really see much of a issue, as long as they honor their warranties. Probably some sort of electromigration issue, hopefully a slight revision in the stepping will solve these issues. Either way sucks for owners who have to deal with the RMA process on their new 1000$+ cards, and really...
not much demand in the U.S market, but outside the U.S. I could see this selling well enough to justify its release.
I ditched my fm2+ home theater pc, and swapped it out with a full size am3+ motherboard, and FX cpu. Could never sell it so it was just laying around collecting dust figured...
I enjoy playing with old hardware. Chilled water loops and stuff, and push it to its max just because. It's cheap and fun. Do volt mods and stuff to gpus, and mobo vrm. Good way to practice before trying your hand on a 2080ti for example.
I recently just pushed my old 7950 past 1400mhz core...
Still want to much $$ for the RTX cards. Considering your almost buying 1080ti performance for a 100-200$ premium. RTX still does nothing.
Nice review. Never would have thought I actually got a good deal on a Vega 64 for 400$, but its looking more and more like it wasn't a half bad decision.
Having been in the tech market for a long time, its nothing new to me.
It's like going to the car show, and talking with car owners. They be like it makes 500hp to the wheels, and you look under the hood and see nothing but colored loom. You don't trust what the owner says, you trust what that...
