I bought my board on January 20th.
It worked find with F1 to get into windows i did not do much else. First i flashed the bios.
IDK if the @BOIS is deemed safe or unsafe But the DUAL bios backup if form the hard drive, so i can not see how the windows version which just basically just...
Sorry i should make what i posted more clear.
The DUAL bios form GA-X38 will revert to a saved BIOS when there is error in the booting of the desired bios. This is written in the manual link is here.

You can not...
All GA-X38-DS4/DQ6 are printed on the same board as the x48 counter part. You can even look at pics to see ti is the exact same layout. The probably just run the same board, put a sticker over the x48 to make it x38....but DDR2 slots on it and different chips but use the same PCB's
I know...
What am to to think about these temps? CPU is very low....eveything else never goes down and max i have seen is 20 degrees more running stress test.. Real Temp is 10 degrees colder all the time....core temp and Everest are the same all the time....all 3 are very high...
The system is on stock...
I have very similar issues......
44,44,49,49 at idel on real temp...x3350....i over clocked it to 3.2....same temps. On Core Temp it is like 52,52,55,55....
CPU temp in Bios is 30, mobo temp 33,
I am using a Ninja Rev.B
So i have a new x3350 replacing my Conroe-L Celeron 420 running at 2.6ghz (333mhz FSB)
I was running the tRD on my GA-X38-DS4 at 5 and phase 0. 5:4 strap 400mhz ram running 4-4-4-12 timings at 2.0v on Mushkin EM DDR2-800 ram 2 x 2gb.
With the new Quad Core processor and the X38 from what i...

if you looks at Quad Core Q9450, QX9650 and X3350...what to you notice...
Something wrong right? a Type-o?
This is what i got so far.
[email protected] on GA-X38-DS4 @1.2volts.
I have a question, which parameter stops the multiplier from lowering and raising with power...i thought i stopped it but it still keeps on going from 8 to 6....C1E or ESIT?
I kinda new to this. Seems like 1.20 volts got it to...
With Intel competition at high end almost zero, the late release of the 45nm quads and duals...i would be surprised if Intel releases Nehalem on that schedule and cannibalize sales on 45nm shrink. I would imagine Mid 09 for Nehalem. IMHO.
i put a Artic Cooling Fan with rubber mounts and a PWM controller. The fan almost never spins on full and makes no noise at all........so i never hear that top fan issue anymore
The rear fan is a on a 3 wire on runs at 1100 rpm but is very silent also.
You can put a AC cooling Accelero S1 on a 8800gt for a silent 8800gt 512meg with more performance then a 3870.
3870 is much quieter out of the box, but also get pretty hot on the stock fan..
"Expect Constraints until Q2"
Where does that supposed e-mail say no Q1 shipping in limited supply. We have already seen some 8400's so we all know 45nm are limited and coming.
If my friend was on a budget and wanted a new system and did not know how to overclock a system.
I would recomend a AMD build, either 6000+, with a 8800tg and 4 gigs of ram.
This should not brake the bank at all and will do very well over for very little moo la.
Here is my P180B with my new hardware in it. I am running a OCed 420 Celeron until i get my Q9450... this was my attempt after reviewing everyone;s post there. It sure does look alot better then before...and alot quieter with the new hardware and fans.
Edit: Specs
CPU: Celeron 420 running...
It's a Enermax EG495P-VE Noisetaker 485W Power Supply. I believe it has 36 amps on the +12v rail and i am running a 3870 and two, two platter 500gb Seagate Hard drives, and 2x2gb ram.
Should be ok until i get my 2nd 3870 and OC the quad to 3.6ghz...in which i thinking around 650 to 700 watts.
I have a 2x2 CPU power connector, my board will take (Giga X38-DS4) a 2x4 connector. The literature says it only needs the 2x4 for 130x extreme processors.
Do you think i will need a new PSU for when my ordered Q9450 gets to my door in March? Or can i stick with the 2x2 power?
EDIT: Sorry for...
