I've had mine set up for a few days now. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Forza 7 on a widescreen is so much better (wider FOV helps a ton with cockpit view). I'm also picking up a lot of productivity with side-by-side windows. I calibrated using TFTCentral recommendations and am happy with the...
I picked up a 12.9 IPP yesterday. I really like it but I think I'd be better served by the 11" model. I had a tough time deciding yesterday and the Apple sales person just said to buy one and try, exchange if needed. I'll give it a few more days. The 12.9 is just a little unwieldy when holding...
I signed up for the Apple upgrade program (if nothing else 24 months of 0% financing is worth it). Decided on the Xs Max, 256 in silver (though now I'm kicking myself for not picking space grey). All in the bill is nearly $1500. Which, without context, is a sizeable chunk of change. However, in...
Unlocking the cars is big news. I was so annoyed that I couldn't just buy a car that I've reached the respective tier and had the requisite credits for. Also liking the latest batch of cars, no SUVs/Trucks is a plus!
As KickAssCop mentioned, they both run great. However they are very different games. Forza 7 is much closer to a traditional racing sim vs. FH3 is very much an open world racer.
I agree on the hyper car implementation. In this specific class especially I hate the homologation system. If I'm racing La Ferrari vs. P1 vs. 918 I want their factory characteristics shining through. Not this, randomly upgraded so they're roughly equal but not quite realistic crap we have to...
I tried to test the demo last night, but the game wouldn't launch. I gave up after a second try downloading and went back to Forza 7. I hear this game is pretty rough for folks on controllers.
Well some good luck for me I suppose, I finally finished the single player campaign (not 100% completion). Played for ~2.5 hours without a single issue. The game is fun when you can avoid the bugs. I really enjoy playing the 'regular' length races, which just gives enough laps to learn and...
This seems to circumvent the issue, but it's still ridiculous that we event have this type of problem at this stage in development (months post-launch).
At this rate the game should be stable by next Christmas. I keep getting the annoying jackpot payout ringing after races. That's on top of random crashes now.
The game was acting up on me last night too. I would load into the race and start, but was extremely laggy 30-50fps. I reloaded the game and worked fine. Next race, same crap FPS. Restart... fixed... broken. Shut down PC, reinstall drivers, game runs great... then crashes in the post race menu...
I think it's worth getting at this stage. The game was pretty hit or miss (with some big misses) until the latest patch. The game generally felt like a beta product until the patch that came on Monday (most folks on the forza forums refer to it as the XOX patch). On my setup the game is buttery...
Yeah no notes (why so secretive?!), I can only anecdotally advise that performance on my PC is fixed (the game basically broke for me after the creator update). And obviously the VIP 2x and memory leak are observed broadly (see Reddit/Forza forums).
Welp, now with the creators update this game is borked for me. It runs sloppy as shit 80% of the time. No crashes in ~45 mins of racing, but the framerates are a mess. I was only able to keep playing thanks to g-sync (even then I could tell framerates were terrible). Lowering the settings has no...
Yeah let's not forget, XOX is using AMD hardware... Admittedly, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to driver optimization/coding/hardware optimization, but it's not really a secret the primary platform for F7 is XOX as a featured launch title. I'm not surprised AMD was optimized on day 1.
Thanks for checking this out Kyle, nice write-up. Latest drivers def smoothed out gameplay a bit for me. My 1080Ti seems less CPU bound. I still get random hitches that I'm not able to consistently replicate, and of course the customization menu memory leak is just plain dumb, but I'm enjoying...
The patch reset my video settings to "dynamic", so had to update them again. FPS/Gameplay seems much improved after the patch and driver update (not sure which one to attribute the improvement too... maybe both?).
However, I did notice (and has been pointed out on other forums) that they have...
FM6 and Apex (which are very similar IMO, and really not that great.). I've pretty much stuck to FH3 or Asetto Corsa for my driving fix for the past year or so.
I'll give it a shot, guessing you enabled DSR via GeForce settings?
Just ripped through the demo. I'm playing on a Xbox One S controller. This is absolutely a day one purchase for me. Admittedly, this game is the primary reason I built a new gaming rig. Runs beautifully maxed out at 1440P; graphics are as good as anything I've seen. Handling characteristics are...
