    HiFiMan HE-560 V3 $300 + Free shipping Adorama

I bought these on a similar deal from Adorama a couple months ago. First pair they sent me, the left ear was dead. Second pair, the right ear was dead. Third pair, the right ear was dead. I asked for a refund at that point. Which I should really really make sure indeed was credited to me. Each...

    Samsung 4K freesync 28" monitor 299 @ Costco - warm

I got this bad boy refurb on Woot a long time back now for $300. I'd been planning on sticking with the ancient CFL 24" I'd been using, but it was too cheap to pass up. It's been such an amazing delight having this monitor.

    DEAD: PowerColor RX470 160-20 = $140

Still tempted, but remember the recent thread- https://hardforum.com/threads/newegg-powercolor-red-devil-rx-480-8gb-190usd-ar-25usd-cash-back-free-civilization-vi.1917538/ . Apparently the PowerColor RX480 design is awful and the VRMs overheat like crazy. Wouldn't be surprised to see similar...

New** Logitech - C922 Pro Stream Webcam $79.99 @ Best Buy - shipped.

Newegg has the C930e for $82. It's 1080p. Wider field of view ("business" webcam, i.e. conference rooms) could be a downside depending on your application.

    New HP Omen 32" QHD Monitor - 2560x1440, 5ms, 75Hz freesync, LFC, VA panel = $343 shipped

Almost bought this for gaming, since my Samsung's 4K is way past my computer's capabilities. 32" might also be fun for gaming. There don't seem to be VESA mounts though. My monitor arms might not be delighted about holding up a 32" but I think it'd work.

    PowerColor Devil 13 Dual 390 16 GB + Razer Ouroboros - $499 after 100 MIR @ Newegg

Tempted to try & go relive the days of my 4870x2, which too cost me $500. But I'm super jazzed about the next GCN drop & want to play with Vulkan sooo not happening. Also, terrified of the power bill. ;) Cool card though.

    Intel 750 NVMe SSDs 400GB $300, 1.2TB $700 @ Newegg

Keep in mind the 2.5" is a SFF-8639 aka U.2 aka SATA Express connector, not a traditional SATA connection. Unless you have a brand new server (edit: or some new desktops!) with 2.5" NVMe drive support, you'll need an adapter (such as one of these) to plug this in. Super tempted to pick this up...

Sapphire Radeon R9 380 2 GB Compact OC Version for $139.99 AR

Oh man, I have a compact HD 4850 in a data-center box for some cloud gaming and GPGPU that needs an upgrade. Little too much power consumption to fit, unless it's significantly lower than the 190 watts TDP on the full size. Tonga! GCN 1.2! HSA! Bah.

    Warm ? 850 Pro, 512GB @ Amazon $219.82

Very tempting, especially with that 10yr warranty. 950 Pro's with their insane world hanging NVMe are still what I'm holding out for, even though I'll need either pcie<->m.2 adapter or a new system to use it. Only 5 years on the 950 Pro- maybe they don't trust their stacked VRAM + new controller...

site was camel camel camel dot com, which i tried to link because it shows price history (no affiliate deals/affiliation for me to disclose here). here's the 6TB model barely getting beaten by it's 10k sibling, and knocking the hell out of WD's enterprise drives, the Re4/Se. the 5tb will...

PSA: Seagate Enterprise Capacity 5TB, ~$165

Offers come and go w/r/t who is selling, but these drives have been selling from one vendor or another for 160-170 for a couple months now. This isn't a specific deal, it's just a notice that these things are available on a variety of channels for really cheap, considering the reliable...

    Wasabi Mango UHD420 42" IPS 4k Monitor w/ Freesync *Pixel Perfect*- $679

I wish FreeSync could do 3D too (GSync can). I like it much better, especially since AMD donated it to VESA & it's now a freestandard (it was already a much cheaper to produce system). There's not really any reason it can't do 3d, other than that no one's bothered to futz around with shutter...

    Seagate 8TB (eight) HD $234 @ NCIX

ya'll aint good readers are you? it's an archive, backup only drive. it's write speed is abysmal, truly wretched. it's shingled magnetic recording. each sector (ring) of the drive overlaps the sectors before it. so when you write, there's a colossal amplification factor (commonly an SSD term...

    HGST 6TB 7200RPM - $249 - Ends 8/16

The 8TB drives are not for regular use- they are Shingled Magnetic Recording devices, and need a lot of time to "digest" the data you write to them. Unless you are talking about the $1000+ HGST Helium He8 enterprise drive. If you just want to store a lot of media, go for it- super GB/$ ratio...

    Intel i7 5557u NUC - $399 @frys

Recommended customer price for the i7-5557U: $426. Still no Crystalwell/onboard L4 DRAM, but damn, nice. The Crystalwell Brix has been going for $360 regularly recently. Not the latest gen but if you want some GPU oomph that'd be the one to nab: Gigabyte Brix /w the i5-4570R.

    Battlefield 4 Premium ($20 Amazon)

I was super late to the party, but when I finally did get the basic BF4 I found the maps incredibly fantastically unappealing. Part of me is like- eh, shell out the $20 and see perhaps what else the game has- but I doubt I'd ever break level 25: forever a n00b.

MSI GTX 960 Gaming - $179.99 after rebate

i resisted buying a P3600 SSD last night, i hope i have the willpower left to resist this one. the witcher 3 copy is a big + for me. apparently this is a common bundle with nv cards. i've been trying to hold out for AMD's next, with HBM and FreeSync support. will see if I make it there.

Amazon: Refurb Motorola SB6121 modem - $44.99 (Prime) march 17

4 channel downlink might/might-not slow you down some. Otoh often times that's all networks like Comcast will give you in the first place, and the 8x or 16x channel modem offers no benefit. DOCSIS 3.1 is around the corner. It'll require an upgrade on the cable company side too, so it'll be a...

Pre-order 8TB Seagate HDD for $249 (expected to ship in March)

WARNING - this is a Shingled Magnetic Recording/SMR drive. It can't just modify or erase data like a normal drive- it's tracks overlap outer and inner tracks of data that also have to get rewritten. Thats why this is an ARCHIVE drive. If you're just using it as data-dump, it'll work fine. But...

Battlefield 4 Premium Edition for $30 @Amazon. Base game and DLC package.

been playing a wee tiny bit of BF3 again. it'd be more fun if more servers had expansions installed- 80% of the hanger-ons are on the base game. i was hoping to skip BF4 and play something else, as i don't have the commitment nor skill to do a crap ton of level-ing, and that seems to be rather...

    Deal? Titanfall $14.99 via Origin

The Digital Deluxe edition includes 9 new levels. $32. I'm also tempted by the 30% off on Battlefield 4. But my HD6950 is already feeling a little weak chunking through Battlefield 3, I'm only level ~30 there meaning there's a ton to unlock, and so I suspect skipping a version and waiting for...

    Dell PowerConnect 2808 Switch: $79
