That's the chance you take when buying something second hand. You have to ask yourself if buying what I call a 'high dollar' card is worth it. In this case I'd say it wasn't The only thing I buy second hand is stuff for the old clunkers that I have knack for acquiring. I won't spend large...
I didn't kill it, just had an intermittent problem, would lose video output. Put an old 8300GS in and haven't had the problem so the 2600XT got RMA'ed. It's now discontinued so I'll have to get a new card.
I haven't gotten any farther, even with my voltage at 1.4v. Not thrilled about goin' any higher.
edit...
took vcore to 1.41 and vtt to1.24 and got 3.8. will prime later.
I haven't been able to get over 3.6Ghz(8X450), haven't upped vcore past 1.34 though. I'm looking to get some more ram as my Patriot's are going back for RMA. Might just get some 6400 Patriot (LLK)and run them together after my 8500's come back.
I've been running mine at 3.2 for about a week and the highest temps I've seen is 45C, pretty much 36/31,so I just upped the vcore alittle and got to 3.6. I only have 1 stick of ram at the moment, get back after OCCT gets done.
Finally got to put mine together, have a bad stick of ram so I'm runnin' on 1 for now. Other than that, so far, so good. Haven't tried any overclocking yet just installed XP and drivers, did updates. I'm in the basement so I put the wireless card in and here I am.
Should I go ahead and try...
I'll be joining the fry in a few days, just ordered a 'P' to go with my E7400, 2gig of Patriot 1066, WD320 HD and a Corsair VX550. Also have an Antec 300 and a Xig 1283 and crossbow.
I'll definately need some help when it comes time to clock this puppy.
I really don't expect to see the X58 or anything else from them. They had a killer P45 that never got released and bios updates for the the IP35 Pro have stopped.
I'm kinda faced with the same decision as far as P35/P45. I do builds for other people but have not done one for myself yet. Got an E7200 and need MB and ram. The more research I do, the more I've about decided to stick with my original plan and go with an abit IP35 Pro XE even though abit is...
I've been wanting to do a new build for myself for several months now and have been waiting for the IP45 Pro to be released.I'm not a gamer and may still go with an IP35 Pro XE, which I almost bought before the P45's were released.
