    All well with CaseLabs?

I bought one of the very first cases from CL, so you could say that I've been with them for awhile. At the end of July 2016, while they were still taking orders for the Mercury S8, I place an order. The order was supposed to be delivered by the end of Sept. 2016 per communications with CL. CL...

Fan ramp up & loss of display signal? (GTX 1080 FE 2-way SLI)

I'm not getting anywhere on the official NVIDIA forums and thought that I'd try here. I spoke with EVGA last week and their first suggestion was to disable SLI in the NVIDIA Control Panel and then report back. Currently testing that out...

SLI & Nvidia Surround - monitor for each card?

A few months ago I read/watch a PCPER article/video which touched on Nividia Tri-SLI and using three displays - it might have been 3 Asus ROG Swifts. At the time Nvidia would not allow SLI to be enabled if you needed to use the DP on each of your 3 video cards. You'd have to only use the ports...

    Frame Pacing & 290X

From what I understand frame pacing for the 290X currently supports D10 and DX11 up to 2560x1600. DX9 support is in the works. What about current support for frame pacing in 4K and Eyefinity using 290X in CF? Thanks.

    Screen going nuts!?!?

This has happened twice since building my new machine (see sig. for details). It only occurred while the system is locked and each time the issue goes away once I unlock the computer. My ZR30W is connected via DisplayPort. I have never experienced this or any other artifacting while benchmarks...

Asus 7970 owners... memory voltage adjustment allowed?

For those who have received their Asus 7970 can you modify the card's MEMORY VOLTAGE using GPU Tweak (Asus app)? I've seen screenshots, posted prior to release, showing that this is possible but I'd like to hear from actual owners to confirm it. Thanks.

Eyefinity, updated AMD drivers & PLP

I'm thinking of going back to AMD with the 7970. From what I've read the new drivers will allow all sorts of monitor configurations not previously possible with Eyefinity. I have an HP ZR30W, which I keep horizontal, and would like to place an additional monitor, vertically, on either side of...

Hyper-V equivalent to VMware non-persistent drives?

In VMware you could set up a drive and OS and then lock down the drive so that all changes to the VM were lost when the VM was shut down. This was great and provided a great test environment. Is there a way to do this in Hyper-V? I could not find one. Thank you.

    Running Hypver-V VMs remotely?

With VMWare Server (I forget the version) I could create a bunch of VMs on a file server (Win 2008 R2) and then access the VM from other computers on the same network via a browser. Does Hyper-V have any similar functionality? If I created a plurality of VMs using Hyper-V on Server A how can I...

    Intel NIC: on-board vs. dedicated?

I'll need to Team two Gigabit ports. I was wondering if there was any benefit to using an Intel PRO/1000 PT Dual Port Server Adapter (EXPI9402PT) over the two Intel 82579LM ports that come on the SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O motherboard? I own the card but plan to purchase the motherboard and was...

    TLER for RAID10?

I've read that TLER (as WD calls it) is desired in a drive when running, for example, a RAID 5 array. However, if I plan to run a RAID10 array with 2TB drives do I still need to use drives that support TLER or the equivalent? I've run a RAID0 with WD Raptors and a RAID1 with WD Greens for ages...

    File server (2008R2) + HTPC (WHS 2011)?

Hi, I want to rebuild my file server and at the same time add some HTPC features. I was originally going to build two separate boxes but now I'm not so sure that I really need to do that. I'm now thinking of building a file server based on Server 2008R2 and running WHS 2011 in a virtual...

Cisco ASA 5505 power brick noise & plug?

Hi, A couple quick questions for those of you with US Cisco ASA 5505 units. 1) If you put your ear up to or close to the power brick do you hear a whine? I've read of one other occurrence of this while searching the net. I'm curious if this is "normal" or not. 2) The female plug on your...

DD Torture Rack - pre-drilled holes are blocked?

I recently bought a Danger Den Torture Rack and, for the most part, love it. However, when I went to mount a 360 rad vertically along each of the side panels I noticed that some of the holes drilled for the fan mount points are, at least partially, blocked by the motherboard panel. I threw a...

Alignment issues (Win7 SSD install, image and restore to SSD)?

Let's say I create a RAID 0 array of fresh 80GB G2s. I create a single partition which is 85% of the max drive space and then install Win7 to the array. Distance between switch/router & file server?

ATI PowerPlay BS (high clock at startup) - report it!
