Is it possible to get bigadv units on Windows with the new v7 client? I had to switch over one of my Linux boxes to Windows and I've added the follow flags: client-type bigadv and max-packet-size big and still only see regular smp units. Is there a flag I'm missing?
I have two new in box EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Cores Classified Ultra cards to sell. These are factory OC'd see here for details.

That's pretty damn scary if true. Not only would that suck for consumers but think of all the other companies that could potentially be forced out of business.
On the flip-side that could open up a fairly large...
I've had my last two bigadv units get this "Server reports problem with unit." error message after hitting 100% completion and then doing the normal upload procedure. It's happened on my 4P AMD server and my 2P E5 server. One 8101 and one 8102 - only thing I can find in common is they both had...
Some I'm trying to following the steps shown here to up the vcore on my set of 6166HEs: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1038876837&postcount=552
Setting the volts seems to work fine, and switching to pstate 2 also seems to work fine but when I try to switch back to pstate 0 I get this...
I think one of my 2P boxes didn't get credit for the last WU it completed about 6-7 hours ago. Is there anyway to check to see if a specific WU was returned correctly and accepted? The log file shows it was uploaded successfully. Here's the info on the WU: Project: 8101 (Run 1, Clone 0, Gen 82)
Really strange issue with my dual E5-2660 box look at the output below from one of the cpu's:
coretemp-isa-0001
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 1: +65.0°C (high = +95.0°C, crit = +99.0°C)
Core 0: +45.0°C (high = +95.0°C, crit = +99.0°C)
Core 1: +41.0°C (high =...
Kinda figures, I get my new 4p box up a few days ago and one of my 2p boxes decides to crap out and stop working today. Pretty sure it's the motherboard - so I'll be down a 2p box for about a week or so. At least the heat wave here will be over in a couple days.
Trying to plan for my next folding box and I'm debating between a 4P AMD box or a 2P Intel -- and if I go Intel should I got with the new E5 Xeon's? Any thoughts?
Hey guys, I used to fold for the [H] a few years ago and I'm starting to get back into it. Don't have a ton of hardware to add into the mix yet, right now I'm just getting caught up on all the new guides and tools available to us folders.
One question, and this might be a stupid one but I...
It seems like every time I get started back Folding something pops up and I have to do a quick sell-off.

So I'm starting to plan for my next build. I was initially thinking of doing a dual nehalem box since I actually don't have any i7/nehalem box yet. The other option I was thinking of was a triple or quad gtx275 box. The quad might be out though as case options (need a case w/ 8+ expansion...

Ok I have an older Tyan mobo that has dual 940 sockets. Now it also has two pci-e x16 slots, one slot is electrically x16 the other is only x4. So my question, would that x4 slot be enough to support a dual gpu card say a 9800gx2 or a gtx295?
Anyone have a chance to try a core i7 chip with the Linux smp client yet? Curious to see what the ppd will be like. I also wonder what affect on performance hyper threading will have.
Just setup a new dual 9800gt box today and I'm having an issue with rivatuner. It seems both cards just fine but I have no fan tab on the 2nd card and it also can't detect the clock settings on the 2nd card. A quick google search didn't turn up much useful info. Any ideas?
I remember running into similar problems with the linux smp client hanging before attempting to send the results. But now it seems to be hanging after it sends the results and right before it starts the next WU.

So I installed a 2nd 9800gtx in my main box last night and that is working perfectly fine. So I come into work today and start putting together this dual 8800gt box. The one client is working great but the 2nd one no matter what I did EUE's immediately with the infamous "UNSTABLE_MACHINE"...
I'm thinking of putting together a quad 8800gt rig for folding, but I'm a little concerned about having to do the extended desktop thing. If I have all 4 cards hooked up to a KVM will that work?
