Some people on Reddit jumped on these, and they got everything from 20,000 hours to 20 hours.
Depends what batch you get, I guess...if you caught them as they were trying to increase storage density instead of pre-emptive maintenance, then you got lucky.
Well, more headaches with this board...
When I boot it, it says system boot failed, but if I target the drive on SATA 0, it'll boot? Means I need to have a USB kybd around to boot this thing.
Also, whenever it goes into suspend, the system clock stops. And when it wakes up, it'll resume from...
Well, update...
Apparently the update to UEFI is what fucked me. I'm trying to reinstall W7 and it won't let me, saying "the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
Update 2:
So updating to EFI reset the SATA controller from AHCI...
Bump.
Anyone buy this mobo?
I had it running fine for 2 months, then found out there was a BIOS update. Ran the update, and now W7x64 BSODs on boot.
On the plus side, it looks like they converted to UEFI...
Haha, is this competing for air an actual or a hypothetical situation? I have the stock cooler on an i5-2500. I don't think these fans have enough power to create a low pressure zone. I turned it on briefly and the PSU does pull air in from the fan side and exhausts out the rear, but shouldn't...
How are you guys mounting your PSUs? Fan up or fan down?
I have a Silverstone Strider Plus ST50F-P (great clearance to the HDD cage btw), and I mounted it fan down to give the CPU some air. But maybe this is wrong?
This is one of the few Thinkpad X200s that came w/ the SL9600 2.13GHz. Apparently it was available for a very short time near it's introduction; fastest processor available now is the 1.86 GHz. Recently refurbed by Lenovo to a basically new state. Looks like they replaced a lot of parts w/ new...
Hey guys,
I've had this for a while, but haven't really used it. It's a Samsung S-PVA panel, which you probably know has much better color reproduction and viewing angles than the cheap TN panels that are abundant nowadays. Maybe used for a 4-5 months, and then I got a laptop w/o a DVI...
The Lenovo screens have had a variety of complaints against their brightness and color uniformity. The MBP with the LED backlight would probably be a better choice for that alone.
That said, I'm faced with the same decision as you (notice the almost identical thread I posted? ;) ), and I'm...
Simply put, Windows feels unpolished in comparison. Interface aside, things should just work, I shouldn't need to hack drivers and whatnot to get things going.
I love Apple for their software and ingenuity. What I dislike is how their userbase fails to see things objectively. When I talk...
Apple is blowing out their old 15" MBPs for $1400 shipped (student store), and I can get a fully spec'd Lenovo W500 for about the same money (EPP discount promotion).
The MBP also has the better display with the LED backlit (1400x900 WXGA only though), the Lenovo comes in a 1900x1200 w/...
Haha. Crazy. The multifunction universal that came with my Onkyo receiver can control everything, just not "automatically".
BTW, what devices do you guys have that are RF controlled?
It's sick if you have the money to throw at the monitor AND the graphics cards to run games at that resolution. Will you notice the resolution difference?
I won't, except I'll notice the skipping frames and the significantly lighter wallet. :)

Laser cut something cool.
Waterjets work too. You live in LA, there's a million places with waterjets and laser cutters.
Passive subwoofers are lame. The front and center speakers also look too small to provide any decent midrange.
You definitely want a system with an active sub, especially for movies.
I have these. Telex EV Sonic XS 2.1.
Much more balanced midrange than the Klipsch, with an excellent wide soundstage. They stopped selling them a while back, but they're solid, like all products by EV. They were being blown out by CompUSA for $40 back when they got discontinued. They're...
Are any of you running S.M.A.R.T. monitoring stuff? I have my AAKS in an external passively cooled enclosure, and it's peaking around 49* C. Seems kinda warm. Any other results?
Here's the deal. I'd like to get a single 30" monitor for TV and computing, on a laptop.
Assuming the monitor only takes a dual-link DVI input (it's a HP LP3065), how can I add HD television to my laptop? I'd be on a docking station, and I'd undock to move around. Does such a product...
