Agree, but a pair of 4TB Hitachi for $160 each was too good a deal, just glad I tore one open to see what was really going on. They had it broke into 3 partitions, Had to use diskpart to clean the MBRs and make it a single GPT drive. Going to throw both enclosures in the trash and keep the...
I bought a couple of the Hitachi 4TB USB3.0 external hard drives. USB3 is fast but there is an issue that has me sticking to esata.
I formatted one of the usb3 drives, then I pulled it from its case to use as an internal drive.
Gues what? Windows doesn't recognize the drive. The USB3...
The problem is mainly old games that only play in full screen, for some reason I can't get it to default fullscreen mode to the HDMI-TV. I ould be happy if all fullscreen went to the HDMI TV and thats all it did. Seems like a simple thing.
I bought a xfx single slot HD7750 so I could watch video's and play games on my LCD TV via HDMI out.
I downloaded the latest 13.1 drivers and the optional hydravision but I can't find any option to make full screen default to HDMI.
Some old games and applications don't go to the LCD TV with...
I am not a power gamer but bought this HD7750 mainly because the iGPU in my i52500 just can't handle two displays playing blu-ray rips.
System:
H67 MB
i2500 CPU
Win7x64
The setup I want is: main display - PC monitor (DVI)
2nd display - LCD TV (HDMI)...
sorry 53C,
I run the hd tuner. Its definately a read issue, as the music file plays I can see the skips in the foobar visualization. This is a H67 but bought it after the sata rev/fix and it shows the correct rev, ut it sure does seem like the intital problem these boards had.
I...
I have an issue with my wd7501aals cavier black 750gb. Playing music from all my other internal HDD is fine, but with this one I get skips.
According to S.M.A.R.T everything is fine. Its only done about 50GB of downloading. But it is my warmest drive sitting at the top of the case rack...
Spent some time on the OZC support forum, a lot of drives going blank to bios with no real solution, bricks. Even folks who are not using sleep/hiberfil, bit of a scary situation.
I remember buying this as my first SSD thinking they had been out a few years not wanting to be an early...
Hold on , the guy with the 50 inch TV got blasted but its always acceptable to design a home theater with 3 inch speakers, . A mono 30 year old 10" 2 way speaker would give better accoustics than the typical $1600 feather weight surround speaker setup folks are buying. I've seen some guys...
Is an M4 going to hold up used as a Z68 cashe drive? I thought that required more of a enterprise type SSD? You may want to consider looking into an SSD specifically built for this utility or just using it as a boot/OS drive. Just saying you may want to look into this a bit. Keep us posted.
I remember with XP there was a guide with a list of services you can turn off if you just have a single computer household, services that allow access from remote computers that would be potential holes for hackers. Anyone have a link to a list like this for Win7 ?
Yea I'm doing as much to keep writes off the SSD, moved the virtual memory, but I did leave the IE cache one the SSD. The kid's Agility 2 dying and all the reports over at the support forum sort of freaked me out, can't help but think these failures are somehow related to the poor...
First drive is a 60gb Vertex 2 with the original 3x nm memory bought in Oct 2010. Setup to never sleep or hibernate. No Hiberfil. Just Win7x64 + Office 2007. All other programs on HDD. Great performance still showing 265 write speeds with Atto. Basically no issues.
Second drive was 50GB...
When I see these motherboard articles idle power measurements are these with the computer in sleep? I just gave my kid my old IP35 Q9550 rig and if it idles at 100W like the old reviews say I'd save in the long run to buy her a new SB MB+CPU.
One thing to keep a look out for when S2011 launches is Intel dropping the 2500K/2600K, I suspect these low priced CPU's were unlocked simply to compete with BD. When SBE 2011 comes out Intel would be smart to drop them as they would cut into the enthusiast platform sales and they must be a...
Don't be fooled, now is not a great time to upgrade. I would wait for socket 2011, that way you have the option for hex or octo core cpus down the road. You won't have that option if you buy a motherboard today.
It seems folks don't see the handwriting on the wall with 1155. Sure the dual vs quad channel ram isn't a big deal. But if you buy an 1155 motherboard, know there are no plans for anything other than quad cores.
If I had an X58, no way I would buy an 1155. The socket 2011 without the...
No one knows how sensitive the K CPU's are to increased wattage. Personally I would wait a while before overclocking these, Intel may be gtting the last laugh. I mean doesn't a $200 unlocked cpu raise anyone's eyebrows?
Yes a nice one, but it doesn't work with the non-native PCI slot of my H67 motherboard. So I don't want to buy a soundcard that will go obsolete again if I can avoid it.
Does the MSI use better than spec DAC/ADC's to achieve this high SNR? Anyone know who I could contact at MSI to find out, personal preferrence is an MSI over a Gigabyte but I am hung up on the sound codec which is important to me because I take measurements/ use the ADC as a scope. I know...
If you consider that IB will have a bigger GPU I think the space for cores will only be 6 at most on 1155?
Most reports are that any >4 core CPU will be socket 2011, which won't be 22nm IB till late 2012 as the OP said.
They way I read the article is the X79 will be released before any new chipsets for 1155, almost like we won't see one till IB.
Edit: they meant no "enthusiast" level 6 series chipsets. I guess 1155 is just second fiddle.
Also wanted to add why USB 3.0 won't be released on the native...
This is false advertising right? I mean look at the spec's for a Realtek® ALC892.
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=28&Level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=284&DownTypeID=1&GetDown=false&Downloads=true
97dB per Realtech with an ALV892.
What am I missing...
I will when my SPDIF bracket gets here, my old sound card wouldn't work with this MB.
I went ahead and ordered the converter box from TG for $32, worth a try.
Didn't work, a previous thread thought it would.
Anyone think this converter box would work and be detected then used as an extended display for watched downloaded TV series, not concerned too much about video quality with the old TV they are usually DIVX anyway...
For my Bios I set the HDD for ACHI instead of GPT since I have an SSD and want to use the latest RST drivers.
There is a separate option called UEFI boot, default is disabled. I enabled it, maybe it boots faster? Is that what it is meant to do?
Anyone know details of what it is about...
Yea but the 6850 has an "analog DVI port". I guess it is worth trying. Man it seams the new card manufactures are just leaving us tube TV guys out to dry as far as information. Might as well wait for another one of those $350 42" flatscreen deals on amazon. Sure not gonto pay $100 for a...
I went ahead and ordered a HD6850 for $140 with MIR. This should be more than I will need for my 17" 1140x900 monitor. Just hope I can unistall the dam microsoft display drivers, I'll probably be the first person to ever upgrade from the intel sandybridge GPU drivers to an ATI, hope I don't...
I want an HD5850 which has two DVI ports, I think I could use a DVI-VGA adapter + a VGA-Svideo adapter and have the setup I need without the intel onboard graphics?
I need an S-video output so I can play a dvd or TV show as an extended display. Right now I have a H67 MB with an i2500. If I add a nice video card none of them have a VGA or S-video output, so no easy method to hook up to my TV.
If I buy a good video card for gaming and hook it to my...
Without a max Vcc spec on the sandy bridge cpu's, the only true overclock is at stock voltage. Adding voltage is an experiement at this point, no one knows how these chips will handle voltage boosts over time, its a guessing game. Yea they are unlocked, but that's the catch.
Right now...
