I went from iPhone 4S to Galaxy S5 a couple weeks ago. The 5.0 update I did a week ago actually made my cell reception worse. If I want to make a call without walking 200 yards from my apartment, I need to use the iPhone (or use my Galaxy S5 before I updated it). AT&T reception is really bad...
I've never even played Quake, but I think it's the first game to have the modern "WASD-mouse" controls, and I heard that the game designers didn't even intend for it to have it, but players invented it. Also, I recently played Duke Nukem 3D, and I was able to give it "modern FPS" controls...
In the other Hitman games, you earned dollars; in this game, you earn points.
I could write more, but that pretty much sums up my feelings toward this game (and it's TRUE).
I'd advise most people to read the game's wikipedia article for the plot, and then DL sniper challenge (that one is...
Charge her with distribution of child pornography. Best Buy gives the employee an official warning for doing a personal business transaction on company time.
As far as I can tell, they clicked the like button when they were at home and not supposed to be working (and the coke vs pepsi thing is just an example the OP came up with). And since it's a government job, they should be protected from getting fired for something like this.
When the Phenom 1s came out, people were speculating that they had "reverse hyper-threading" to make up for their lack of... goodness. Let's see what stories about BIOS fixes and stuff people come up with for these.
I was an AMD fanboy back when my s754 Sempron got a 50% overclock and played...
My research is telling me that the 560ti will have a little under 2x the fps of the 4870. My advice for graphics cards is usually to figure out the budget and buy just at the top end of that, since market forces usually make the frames-per-second to dollar to pain-in-the-ass ratio about the...
">1600" MB/s on FX, versus 2700 MB/s on an i7? If this was some random incidental thing I wouldn't care, but the fact that AMD's slide is sort-of bragging about it seems like a bad sign.
Swat 4, Hitman 1/2/3, System Shock 2, &c. on a 1920x1200 monitor play at 1600x1200.
Those games on a 1920x1080 monitor play at 1280x1024.
Also, 16:10 just fills my personal field of vision better, but that's because of how my nose and brow are. Your results may vary. =)
In response to the semi-tangent regarding whether it's "really a dual-core":
Let's say I took a dual-core CPU, and removed a core (not sure how, but it doesn't really matter). What's left would basically be a single-core CPU.
Let's say I took a BD module, and removed a "single-core CPU"...
Horizontal motherboard.
Sharp/jagged edges (if it saves on cost =) )
No tool-less installers; I usually remove them and use screws.
USB 3.0 support.
Windows!
1. Invite female to my place.
2. Wait for her to see my computer and say "damn, that thing's huge."
3. Say "wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that."
4. ?
5. Profit.
Performance per dollar is pretty subjective. Your current card (whatever it is) has an infinitely high performance per dollar value, for example. You'll probably like a 6950 or maybe a 570.
lol@ some of the responses in this thread.
It's a coupon for a gun from a gun store. You still have to go to the licensed dealer and fill out the paperwork and do the background check.
[tinfoil hat]
Same reason food companies give out coupons. The people who go through the effort of finding coupons and clipping them out are frequently the people who wouldn't be buying the products if there wasn't a coupon. But the people who don't bother with coupons will buy the stuff at...
I don't even have to semi-hijack this. I'm in the exact same boat.
Can anyone confirm that an AM3 4- or 6-core will be as good at or better at gaming*? I know it will be better at photoshop, encoding, and stuff like that. But what about guilty pleasures like Crysis or whatever?
EDIT:

This is almost as stupid as "The company I work for pays me a salary. I have no idea where that money came from. So it probably comes out of thin air and that's the definition of inflation."
Yeah, that's right. Sorry, I was in a hurry when I wrote that. Attaching a flat metal plate to some flat hot chips doesn't really do much. Of course, using an actual heatsink with a high surface area (fins) makes sense.
I remember reading that there was a competing technology to RAM that...
You guys are still using the fans with blades? I've been using the bladeless fans for over a year now.
And my motherboard's voltage regulators make my CPU get 16x the power. Sweet.
The problem is with your own definitions, sort of.
You could look at it from the point of view that 1680x1050 today is probably as common as 1280x1024 a few years ago. Or 1920x1200 today is the equivalent of 1600x1200 a few years ago.
On another note, those two guys aren't even arguing...
I'm using a 1680x1050 (16:10) 21" S-PVA panel. I swore my next monitor would be the same but larger (in resolution and screen size), but I'm having a hard time finding one that's like that and has a standard gamut (wide gamut is worse for my uses). I'll probably get a 2407wfp off ebay. =(...
Numberpad. Lets me press 3 different buttons with my thumb (0-reload .-jump, enter-run).
I keep telling myself I'll swith over to RDFG (gives my pinky stuff to push aside from capslock), but I never really get around to it.
I recieved the package today, came with all the cables (as well as the motherboard and cpu of course). Packaged in original containers and everything seems to be in excellent condition.
Unfortunately, I can't test the goods until Wednesday (Thursday if my life sucks), so it's possible that...
Long story made short, I gave him money via paypal 19 days ago, and 13 days ago he told me he'd ship the package the next day (11 or 12 days ago, since he told me a little after midnight). The products I bought were an e8400 and a P5Q deluxe, for $300.
Here are the PM's:

Hey all, is it worthwhile to upgrade from 2x 1GB modules to 2x 2GB modules if all I'm using is WindowsXPx86? Is the extra gig or one-and-a-half gigs worth it?

Could that be an anisotropic filtering/mip-map problem? Can you turn off anisotropic filtering optimizations in the control panel?
