Performance per dollar is pretty subjective. Your current card (whatever it is) has an infinitely high performance per dollar value, for example. You'll probably like a 6950 or maybe a 570.

The R in RAM means that the heat is already spread out anyway. They're a gimmick. Heatsinks are a different matter though.

You guys are still using the fans with blades? I've been using the bladeless fans for over a year now. And my motherboard's voltage regulators make my CPU get 16x the power. Sweet.

The problem is with your own definitions, sort of. You could look at it from the point of view that 1680x1050 today is probably as common as 1280x1024 a few years ago. Or 1920x1200 today is the equivalent of 1600x1200 a few years ago. On another note, those two guys aren't even arguing...
