Thanks for the quick response warren...
I already tried changing the boot order in bios, and the drive has the jumper set to master.
The drive is visible in Windows, so I assumed the cable isn't the problem, I'll try another one for good measure.... any other thoughts in the meantime?
Dear [H],
So I'm visiting my parents, and their desktop (a Dell Dimension 8110) is in desperate need of a reformat.
I backed up all the data with my external HDD and popped in an XP boot disc, but for some reason it won't boot from the CD. I've tried several other CDs, including my windows 7...
I would assume that the majority of [H] overclocks at one point or another. If he's doing his own build, especially with the components he listed, I would hope that the OP would least do some dabbling.
But that's neither here nor there... The point is that getting a 500w PSU for a system like...
Whompers, deal's dead. Total shows $290. :(
I've been waiting to buy a set of the 5500's for months... I'm contemplating biting the bullet and paying $250 after shipping at amazon...
Just because you haven't seen some of the more shiesty Apple ads doesn't mean they don't exist. Apple's ads have been sketchy for almost as long as I can remember.
Case in point, the PowerPC/Pentium thing has been brought up several times already in this thread, and since you think that...
Wow, this post is just filled with dumb.
If you have an item that has been stolen and the cops find out you have it, they ask you where you got it. If you didn't steal it, you'll probably tell them the name of the person you bought it from, who most likely was the thief (or who can at least...
I recall reading an article about how the new BF game (BF Heroes), will be available to play for free if you up up with ads.
I think developers will get the idea if the game falls flat on its face, so I won't be playing it, and suggest you guys think about it seriously before making a...
You're right, my mistake. The first amendment does apply to any kind of speech (with obvious exceptions such as threats, obcenity, etc.) However, it is irrelavant in this arguement, seeing as
A) Our right to free speech doesn't apply to threats or defamitory remarks (see 'obvious exceptions'...
Right, unless its a forum owned by the government (which I don't know any), in which case they are bound by the first amendment to protect your free speech (which, as mentioned several times before, is in no way absolute).
In any case, I'm pretty sure we're on the same page now Azhar. :D
I'm gonna have to go with Azhar here.
If you come to a forum and post something the owner doesn't like, he can delete your comment and/or give you the banhammer. Sure, he's actively censoring what you want to say, but he's not the government in any way shape or form.
However, if you post...
This would be what I was referring to in my original post.
Nice 180.
But you make a solid point about forums... The first amendment says that the government can't restrict your free speech, but internet forums aren't run by the government.
I have a feeling we're getting off topic; this...
hope you bookmarked the links woot put up in their description, I hear it can be a royal pain to get the OEM version of the card and all the features working 100% correctly...
=/
+1
QFT.
You're right, this isn't middle school. Its the real world, where it's NOT okay to defame someone. Imagine if you were googling your own name, and you find '[Your name here] has herpes'. I know I would be a little pissed if it were me.
I was going to point out slander, but Bonsai...
A dollar for every minute I game would suck, but your analogy is kinda off-base seeing as you don't have to pay $1 for every minute you listen to a song, and, while they are much shorter, IMO songs have much greater replayability than most games. If you listen to a 3-minute song 18 times or...
Um, I think we just covered this.
I don't see a problem with texting, it has its uses. But for God's sake, STOP TEXTING WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING. Honestly, its downright scary, and it especially sucks for me since we have no-fault insurance in Michigan (biggest joke/scam ever), soit costs me...
haha, my mistake.
So I guess we agree then.
Of course the cyclist should be held responsible for not obeying the rules of the road, but in no way did that warrant the excessive force used by the officer.
WTF?
I'm going to assume you're trolling, since I seriously doubt anyone mentally competent enough to articulate their thoughts into a post can actually believe that crap you just posted.
We're talking about a cyclist who went through a red light, not someone doing 120 down the freeway...
How about giving each what they deserve as dictated by U.S. law?
Cyclist- civil infraction for failing to yield at an intersection ( a ticket)
Police Officer- Submitting a false report (take his badge and gun at the very least), Assault and battery charge (usually felonious when involving a...
