Hello,
I just built a new PC with QX9650. This is my very first time OCing, and now trying to overclock my QX9650.
My current setup is:
QX9650 running at 3.6GHZ 11x333 1.30v stable
Asus P5E3 Deluxe Wifi, BIOS 0601
2x 2GB Cosair DDR3 1600 7-7-7-20 2T 1.9v
DRAM Static Read Control...
I just received a receipt email with a tracking number for my QX9650 retail. I ordered from http://www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop/shop.cgi?action=enter&thispage=0110030005019_BN60786P.shtml&order_id=!ORDERID!
I am glad I waited about two weeks, it saved me at least $200 and I get 3 year warranty...
I also ordered one from there. Have been waiting for over two weeks now. ETA used to be 11/16, and now 11/26 and 11/27. I really hope it will be shipped soon. I already have rest of parts sitting in my room doing nothing.
You mean QX9650? Yes, 680i supports penryn (unofficially) but you may need BIOS update. However some people seem to have a bit problem with 680i mobo, http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=161177&mpage=1&key=.
And I am not sure how well it will overclock. If you dont mind not...
Boxed non-extreme Intel CPU warranty will be voided if you overclock. But if I remember correctly, you can overclock core 2 extreme without voiding the warranty.
I can't really wait for it. I would not have time to upgrade my PC after holiday season.:( Besides additional 200MHz makes no difference. Only a small increase in benchmarks.
I just ordered retail one from http://www.shopblt.com/cgi-bin/shop/shop.cgi?action=enter&thispage=0110030005018_BN60786P.shtml&order_id=!ORDERID!
It is not yet in stock but, according to their real-time availability, ETA is 11/16. The price is $1063.42 with free shipping, and no tax ( I live...
Hello,
Retail QX9650 will be available in about 2 weeks, but OEM is already available. Would you wait for retail version or go for OEM? I am not sure if I want to buy over $1000 CPU without good warranty.
I thought retail version would be available on 12th and already purchased mobo, ram...
