Anonymous Targeting Federal Reserve in Next Attack

Meh, calling Anonymous a hacker group is kind of misleading...It's a gaggle of teens running LOIC and thinking they're h4x0ring. It's not like they're using SQL injections, local file inclusions, cross site scripting, etc to gain root access to anything. They're just being an annoyance...

IT Hiring to Increase During Last Half of 2011

It all depends on where you live honestly. Here in the DC area, companies are having to compete with the federal government and government contracting companies for hires, especially in the network security field. The salaries are higher, the job security is better, and you can still pull the...

Bethesda: Consoles to be Skyrim lead platform, aiming for "Really Accessible"

True, but then we could get into the graphics does not make a good game discussion. You need your eyes checked woman. Models are much improved, vegetation looks more realistic, the draw distance is better and the vistas look damn good... Gambryo looks dated compared to this. Is it best in...

Meh, a good game is a good game is a good game. Another PC gaming is dieing rage thread. Oh noes! Fast travel and no hardcore D&D stats?!?! Wat's the world coming to?

Google Says Chinese Hackers Broke into Gmail

Meh, more like these people didn't pay attention to their FISSA training as part of whatever clearance they have to get...or forgot to use the logic part of their brain. Maybe it's time to take off the tin foil hat. There is no NWO.

Crysis 2 Storyline Discussion - What the Heck is Going On??

The story was the most disappointing part of the game for me. In a vacuum, the gameplay is done pretty well (not comparing to the original), but there was no emotional investment in the story. It was all go here, do this, go there, do this, OMG a building is falling, get out of there! You...

    I NEED a game.....

Seriously, go pick it up. I'm primarily a FPS player too, but a great game is a great game. It's easy to get into, pretty good story, tight gameplay, stable as all hell, and most importantly, fun. EDIT: Oh and the voice acting is some of the best in any game ever released.

I'm so sick of terrible console ports

Another angry consolized meme thread.. Can't wait until Deus Ex, Rage, Skyrim, etc. come out so we can hear this crap all over again. Been using Steam since it's come out, never seen this issue...online, offline, never been cockblocked.

If you haven't played Batman: Arkham Asylum, get it now. One of the best games I've played the last few years. Another would be Fallout New Vegas.

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution Impressions

The most encouraging thing about this is the fact that Eidos/Square are comfortable enough with the game to allow the press to preview the first 10 hours of the game 3+ months from release. Makes me feel confident it's going to be a good one.

PC Gaming is too much work.

In all honesty, PC gaming has never been easier. Most games are pretty good about picking settings based on your config. You don't have to eek out that extra 5 fps if you don't want to. If you don't want to put your PC together, there are plenty of places to buy a PC with a decent - top of...

    Top 3 Games

Too many to choose from...Three off the top of my head: Quest for Glory: So You Want To Be A Hero - best adventure game ever Mechwarrior 2 - nothing like it before or since QWTF - took up 2 years of my life Special honorable mention to pre-expansion Everquest. Only MMO I've played that was...

Section 8 Prejudice out in 16 hours

Not trying to knock this game at all, but this game lacks the polish of a "triple A" title and I could totally see why it's averaging a 7/10 in most reviews I've seen. Having said that, it didn't receive those scores because of the gameplay, which is pretty fantastic and more than makes up...

So I really like Dragon Age 2

You can also add to that the hate people give a game before the game is even released, usually because they have some vendetta against it due to a change made or the company releasing it. In my opinion, if you haven't played the game and you say it sucks, then your opinion is invalid. How...

    Valve: No more episodic content

Meh, I played QWTF competitively and could say the same about TFC, but I enjoyed both and enjoyed TF2 for the time I played that. Playing something you've already mastered an earlier iteration of makes it seem like less of a challenge.

Gabe, Valve, and Half-Life, do they care?

They are also privately owned companies with no shareholders to answer to. Games are games, not looked at as commodities like Joe Avg shareholder does. But why should Valve outsource HL3? Why should they do things on one person's schedule and not their own? Maybe they have a good reason...

Gabe, Valve, and Half-Life, do they care?

What approach leads to more innovation though? The EA/Activision style that pumps out sequel after sequel yearly on time or the slow ad hoc approach that Valve uses? Is there a happy medium? Back in the Sierra/Apogee/Early Blizzard days, development was a lot less regimented and more...

    Valve: No more episodic content

But that is par for the course for CoD's publisher, not Valve. And based on prior history, is not surprising. Valve, on the other hand, has a history of providing consistent free DLC/Updates. They realized long ago with the original Half-life, that the key to a title's sustainability is...

    Valve: No more episodic content

This goes back to a question I asked earlier in the thread... Back in 2001 and all through Oct/Nov of 2004, people were bitching about HL2 taking so long to come out. It was worse than the bitching about Ep3/HL3 ever has been. Then it came out. The bitching went away and the game got...

    Valve: No more episodic content

The community as a whole is becoming whiny, jaded and self important. It was much better back in the mid-late 90's. Oh for when Quake/Gamespy was good and Planetquake and Bluesnews were the places to go and the gaming community was actually, you know, a community. Now every other post on a...

Valve tried episodic content, failed, recognized it, and is changing to another model. Don't get all the LOLOMGZVALVEFAILS!11!1! BS. Also, I don't mind the wait on the next Half-life installment. Honestly, I think rushing out sequels have hurt the quality of games that are coming out...
